MagSA
4 hours ago, Scoot said: Nick was brought in to be our second/backup striker, Wissa was signed as our starting striker. But Wissa got injured literally straight away, before he had even kicked a ball for us which meant Woltemade was chucked in at the deep end. Straight into a new league at 23 years old due to our first choice striker being injured. Eddie would have introduced him slowly had Wissa not been injured but didn’t have that option. Nick has got a lot to learn without a doubt, but has done alright since signing for us. 9 goals in all comps. Give the lad time. Isak scored 10 in his first season here. I am not sure you spend that amount of money on a backup striker. I dont like writing players off and I dont know what work goes on behind the scenes to get the best out of him. I can only judge from what I see on the pitch and based on that I am really concerned about him being a long term solution. There are crucial PL fundamentals missing at the moment which many have mentioned before. Not writing him off, just really concerned about the direction of travel. Im not convinced by either Woltemade or Wissa. I think we probably need to sign another young striker from the continent.
Smal
I hate seeing him come off the bench, mind. He never impacts a game positively at all and it pretty much always marks our surrendering of the match. Play him from the start or not at all. Personally I think he should just be starting as many games as possible atm. Get him a goal and some confidence back. I'm starting to worry he's not a good fit for the Prem. His lack of pace really limits his impact as a forward in this League and that's not something that can be developed. I fear we may have bought a Zirkzee type player who would be better suited to the Italian league.
SAK
Don’t know what happened to this guy, was doing alright. I think his downwards trajectory coincided with Wissa’s return. Maybe he needs to be played continuously and not chopped and changed. Who knows.

He scored those two goals against Chel$ea and was then on the bench the next game for Wissa (I think), then they've been pretty much rotated with only two instances (I think) of them being on the pitch at the same time. I don't think its done/doing either of them any good with getting going properly, but Eddie either cant or doesn't want to find a way to play them together so they get the added match time. Whether it'll happen more now Osula is available to go on the bench, is anyone's guess. But said it in the match thread, throwing them on together yesterday after we were 3-1 down just seemed like a 'see what you can do lads' rather than a coherent plan. Vision, touch, dribbling, general technical ability. He does need to be smarter with his frame and attack the box better, but it's nothing that can't be coached. Of course doesn't help that we aren't getting bodies around him either. Edited February 4 by The Prophet

He plays with his head down most of the time and his touch holding the ball up is very hit and miss. It's like playing with 10 men at the moment
