where's that?

Seen it a few times on socials (a villa one just before). I'd normally not bother, but 5 days ago I was adding laughing reactions to 'Tonali to Spurs' posts, so more fool me or s9emthing.

If Tonali goes to Spurs and Nick to Villa.. it'd take a lot to get me even remotely excited for this coming season. Bad enough as it is.

Some signings would be a decent start.

Just saying that in the world cup thread, ignored by two different ones.

Havertz has been first choice as 9 (even though it’s not his natural, best role) and Undav’s been starting at bench. Those are the players he is up against. Amiri did really well today for attacking role at midfield.

Woltemade played a lot for Germany because of Havertz’s injuries, so it’s not the role (starting XI for Germany) he lost, it’s the role that he managed to get due to injuries.

If they start Havertz as 10 and Undav as 9, he might have better chance to play but the competition is tough. Nagelsmann likes Sane (the only person in whole Germany that rates him) and probably he is first choice from bench or Amiri for 10.

Undav doing well is poor thing for Nick, because he is getting the minutes that Nick would’ve had. Woltemade and Undav play really well together so if Woltemade gets minutes with him, he has great chance to impress.

I’ve been saying here for long time that we should sign Undav, because they play well together and Undav has developed (matured) so that he’ll probably do well now.

Him at Villa would be no different to the setup hes in here. He's not getting games ahead of Watkins/ Rogers

Rodgers is off.

Watkins is very hot and cold and on the downward spiral.

He was playing for Germany plenty before he got here and during early on.  He's a clever player that a good coach could make use of.

Not as much wedge for agents in a swap deal .

I think it makes more sense in American sports because the talent pools are smaller.

There are only a handful of NFL players in the world so selling one for cash and then trying to find one you can buy makes less sense than trading I expect.

Plus it lets the owners feel like they're back in the good old days of owning humans and trading the ones they don't like down the river.

He played 105 minutes across two games before signing for us, not sure I'd call that plenty

It makes more sense in American sports because you can trade a player against their will and you don’t need to negotiate new contracts.

In football if Team A wants to trade Player B to Team C in change for Player D, that’s three separate negotiations (AC + BC + AD) with four parties all having to sign off on one transaction. If it breaks apart at any point both teams are left with unsettled players. Just not worth the trouble.

No-one in Germany in paying anything like that number for him - Bayern spat the dummy out re our fee last year and they’re the only German club who could pay those numbers.  It there’s anything real about Villa being interested for £65m we’d be mad not to snap their fingers off - I doubt they are, though.

Theyve effectively been banned by PSR now too

Will they be allowed with the new rules?  From what I understand sales are now spread over three years, so the cheat code of bothe clubs selling a player and banking all the income in one go doesn't exist anymore

For all his shortcomings (I think we obsess over what a player doesn't do these days) I think in a team with dynamic inverted wingers he'd do very well. If he'd turned us down or gone Bayern I think we'd be cursing our luck for missing out.

I don't think he'll come good here, but he'll come good somewhere.
