I agree, he's not looked great so far this season, but he's not started many games so like Ramsey, might be a bit rusty. Like I said though, if he's part of the squad, then he needs to be good enough to come in when we need to give regular starters a rest.

You could make a case for all three of them starting tbh, if the intention is to keep the overworked midfield a rest before the weekend. But that's never going to happen. Yorkie
Had a feeling we might see Gordon at CF tonight. Like it or not he's the only alternative we have to Woltemade atm and that guy absolutely has to get a rest at some point.
OoOGazOoO
Oh mannnnnnnnnnnnn Gordon up top againnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Needs must but I cannot get excited about that.

Scoot
I agree with playing Gordon through the middle tonight. We can't just keep playing Woltemade every 3 or 4 days. Its not ideal but we've got so many games coming up where we'll need Woltemade.

Managed by De Zerbi who is familiar with us and just put past 5 Nice on Friday so also had an extra day's rest. Not expecting it to be easy at all. ste_ne24
Will be watching this in Tenerife. last time I was here for champions league was the PSG home game. Was thinking they're was loads more Newcastle tops than usual in the airport this morning till I twigged they were going to Marseille
Shadow Puppets
You guys might be right that Burn is LB and Murphy RW, but that’s not what I was told.

HaydnNUFC
Glad to see some rotation. Don’t want Gordon starting at the weekend. However, I don’t see us scoring much if at all with that side. Wissa being out is such a killer. Fingers crossed it works.
Guybrush
Playing Gordon as a CF? You'd get more goals out of luuk de Jong or Riviere. I'd put Osula or even Barnes up front before Gordon again. It's a failed experiment that doesn't work.

Barnes has an eye for goal if you use him as a poacher and nothing else. There's still a question mark about him in that position. For Gordon, there is no question mark, the guy just cannot play there.
SUPERTOON
Gordon through the middle is a poor choice. He’s been awful out wide and is even worse up front.

Checko
Think the Gordon can't play CF is a bit overhyped tbh. Yes it's not ideal, but I think he can do a job there. If it's the plan I imagine we want an aggressive press tonight as well.
Guybrush
Surely the job is to score goals though, no? If you want someone to run around, Elanga could do that with the same amount of goal threat as Gordon
