Newcastle United 3-0 PSV Eindhoven (21/01/26) | post-match from pg. 39

Anyone else who was at the match notice the loan from Sunderland who came on 2nd half, spent a bit of time at the back then moved to midfield. Lots of movement but didn't affect the game. Looked a bit lightweight. Chris Packet

Yup. Wouldn't be shocked if Arsenal win CL, Villa won the Europa and Palace won the conference. All though wheels are falling off palace at the moment.

But the fact spurs and man u got to the final of Europa last year was probably the most telling. Both had horrific seasons domestically and yet we're still streets ahead of anything in the Europa.

I'm still annoyed about the 90 minutes of life I wasted watching that bore-fest.

The main question running through my mind after the game was just how good a full back is Lewis Hall going to become?

The last few times I've seen him, he's been taking the ball in quite tight, tricky situations, and going past two or three opponents. Last night, the only way PSV seemed to be able to stop him was fouling him. His defending has improved as well, but he's become a really good attacking threat. If he keeps up this form, he's nailed on for the England World Cup squad.

He seems quite a bright lad who wants to get involved in decisions, so I would see him as a future captain too.

Sorry Alan Kennedy, I am officially dropping you from my all-time Toon XI.

Going to take over from Bruno as the most fouled player in the coming years. The only way they can contain him.
