Feel like I'm in upside down world with Gordon tbh. I've spent months saying how he's been really poor and getting away with murder, suddenly he's found a bit of form and loads of people hate him.

Life of the Scapegoat unfortunately

I get the choice of Barnes and Elanga at the wings, but then I'd bench Gordon and play Wissa instead. Seems like benching Gordon is never an option, though. I don't want to say too much now, because I would look silly if Gordon scores.[emoji38]

Benched in the last game we played.

It's the lack of consistency, end product and only turning up for what he perceives to be a big game.

Atleast he will turn up today, then.

Also, just to add. Szob dominated Barnes last game. So I hope we might at least have some fluidity in that front 3. Especially as Elanga has looked better on the left the few times he’s attacked down that side for us.

Yeah where is the Pool defensive crisis I heard about?

Has it? Genuinely can’t remember [emoji38]

Not remember Almiron coming on and mouthing "five five zero"

Then we did the same at times in the cup semi final second leg (albeit with a striker in the 5)

This is very true, with one caveat, two of the said front 3's short passing is some of the worst I've seen from professional players, misplaced 5/10 yards passes that do my brain in. Hope you're bang on though.

Gordon and Barnes are not that bad, though I can't argue about Elanga lol

If Botman got an injury tonight people would say we are playing him too much after coming back from his latest injury.

Yeah no issues with rotation and rest, but my point is that Burn shouldn't walk straight back in as the number one choice leaving Botman on the bench.

So Burn tonight and maybe Weds but Botman back next weekend

True. First time this season? Probably needed a rest. I believe he was returning from injury the other times that he was on the bench.

Oh aye, bit different doing to from the start mind, but let’s see how it goes.

Eddie said Botman wasn't 100%. Still, I would guess it's hard to get Burn out of there.

They have players back, but are still poor defensively. Not that I expect us to trouble them much tonight [emoji38]

I'm actually quite optimistic, purely based on the fact that whenever I see a lineup that makes me recoil in horror like the one tonight, I'm often pleasantly surprised by the outcome

Not as important as other games we have in our present run of fixtures.

Look - I wish Gordon would rediscover the form he had the first full season he with us, but for the majority of the last year - his contribution in terms of goals and assists in the PL has been bum gravy (from open play) And this from a regular England winger.
