Tottenham Hotspur vs. Newcastle United: 10/2/26 @ 19:30 (TNT Sport)

We can't possibly be resting players because the focus is on the cup? It must be that he just has to rotate because of the number of games we've played. There's no way he thinks a 4th round cup game is bigger than a league game given how the leagues been going recently.

Or maybe Hall is spent and needs the weeks rest.

I don’t fancy our part time Sokrates up top, but if Eddie likes that I would love to see Wolte playing behind him. Gordon‘s best weapon is still his speed and Nick could play a nifty through ball here and there.

I don't think it's what he's doing, but would it really be crazy to focus the season on the Champions League and FA Cup? Hardly an outrageous idea.

Feel like this is going to be a hard watch, playing those 2 at full back I think we need to sit deeper and then break with Willock, Gordon, Elanga. Need to be tight between midfield and defence

yeah that's what I'm saying, there were a couple of comments saying he was resting them for the cup and was just saying there's no way that's the case

Roger. Apologies for the friendly fire.

there's no way we win the Champions League and it's the 4th round of the cup and we do still need some more points in the league at some point

Says everything about Wissa and Woltemade when Anthony Gordon gets a go up front having never really shone there at all.

What a situation to be in after splashing £120m

I wonder if these decisions will impact their future at the club? Howe obviously doesn't trust them anymore.

I am glad our manager is not so defeatist.

To be honest mate it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest as neither in my opinion are what we need. I know a lot of people love Woltemade and to be honest I think he's a cracking lad and he has talent but I just don't see a future for him at Newcastle unfortunately.

Only silver lining is the senior players have the right mentality and will want to right the wrongs. However I don't think that carries you very far these days when athleticism is such an important element.

That back 4 except for minus Thaiw, with Bruno in the deep lying position has to be the slowest in the league. Really hope we keep things tight and go low block.

We have nice pace up front but then we're up against the quickest CB in the world so not sure Gordon's strengths really suit here.

Let's see how it plays out. I have faith in the likes of Bruno to be determined to turn things around but the line up doesn't inspire confidence.

I don't think so.

Probably more of a risk for his job though if we get very far down in the league.
