agreed, but it also hasn't spurred any of the two into action when it happened recently.

A bit of a mess. That said Im more worried about the defence than the three on top.

If Burn’s left back I hope it’s to play his old role of forming a back 3 in rest defence. Don’t want to see him going forward and getting exposed at all.

There is nobody else to play RB. I keep saying it but it’s the club’s fault and Trippier is being hung out to dry.

Ramsey and Willock in the same midfield again seems like a mistake but who gaf at this point.

Howay the lads!

Have to try and see.

Playing Trippier twice a week is a recipy for disaster.

And if their performances at reserve or U21 level make it clear they're not up to scratch and probably a bigger recipe for disaster?

I've never heard a single person who actually watches our youth team say that there's anyone who should be getting a chance like.

Got to be the oldest pair of full backs in the league

And they will be asked to play as high on the pitch as possible

Can’t do any worse than Trippier

I know it's fashionable to say just play the kid, what do we have to lose? Well, we might not but Howe has a responsibility towards the kid

If he isn't deemed to be ready, certainly not to start games then chucking him in would be massively irresponsible and could have serious repercussions for his career

He has been playing for England's youth teams. Can't be that shit.

Anyone seen much of that Leo Shahar? Played for England at Right Back at all levels up to U19s currently. Probably too big a gamble but genuinely curious to see what people who have seen him think of him

Looked smaller than Trippier and about 14 vs Sunderland reserves the other week,Had a tough time v them but didnt shy away to be fair

The Korean boy looked good

Lads, who are you playing instead of Trippier? Unless you're putting Thiaw there, there's no alternative.

So put Thiaw there then. Has to better than Trippier who's clearly struggling?

I don't see why Jacob Murphy couldn't slot in at RB. He's disciplined, can't question his work rate and can offer something at the other end of the pitch if he gets the opportunity

Edit - also works if Burn is slotting in more as a third CB like we used to

I think there's a case for it, saying as it's the only alternative. Not sure it would do us much good going forward though. Think I'd rather go 5 at the back so he has extra cover.

Can't see what else Howe can do? We'll break Hall again with a game every 2-3 days and our strikers are absolute wank.

Not much now after deciding we didn't need anyone in the transfer window.

Agree that Hall needs a rest.
