Today's the day it really hit home, they're now 3rd and 4th choice. Puts us in a dilemma as the best way to get the most for Woltemade is to hope he has a great World Cup which means there is a risk we might not get a replacement until late into the window. If an offer came in for Wissa then I'd sell straight away.

Does this also mean we keep Osula as it could mean replacing three forwards if we were to sell. Madness.

If Osula adds a touch of refinement to his game, the lad will be quality. He’s fast, works hard and has a powerful shot.

I was responding to someone talking about Barcelona not being as good as Man City, just adding that there’s a hell of a gap between the leagues.  Playing Barca in 1997 felt like coming up against a giant - this doesn’t have that edge to it.

This is what I mean. I just can't comprehend that being your first reaction to tonight. Incredibly dull.

Eh he was fast as hell getting his cards out for us barely even went to his pocket for them.

Think we're just so used to horrendously bias refereeing that a ref who's simply a bit bias seems decent.

Barcelona haven't scored less than 3 goals in a home game since the 13th of December

That’s alright, we’ve conceded three in pretty much every home game since then and they needed a stoppage time penalty to break their duck :)

Fair enough, was just making conversation - it’s 9:30am and the working day has started so I’m not filled with the sensible amount of alcohol and adrenaline that these situations normally require :)

Theyll be the ones sweating next week

We've seen enough nou camp 2nd legs to know what they're like. Atletico went there 4 nil up last week and nearly lost the tie. I'm not being pessimistic, just realistic. Doesn't mean I won't go into it backing Eddie and the boys, or that I won't still be proud of them regardless of what happens.

Imagine your team standing up to one of the big boys on that stage and your reaction being "well, actuallyyyyy it wasn't that impressive, and here's some deeply dull reasons why you shouldn't be pleased with that".

One of the big boys?  You're talking about them like we're in League One and they're Premier League.  We play in a league more competitive than there's every week and play teams ever season as good or better.  We're at home.  Yes we played well, but happy with a draw at home? No!

Doesn't mean I'm having a go at the players who played tonight.  But no I'm not going to be happy to have drawn at home against "one of the big boys".  Loser mentality.

Class performance tonight. Such a shame that our game management just went to absolute shit last couple mins, but hard to be harsh on the team after that honestly.

Not the first time. Did the same against Man City at home in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. I guess we lack experience in this domain.

I mean that’s just wrong. It was 2 cards to 1. Hardly as one sided as your suggesting

I share @TheBrownBottle's depression about the PL teams' resources compared to the rest of Europe, but Barcelona are nevertheless absolute giants on this stage. They are generally a last 8 team in this tournament and should've been finalists last year. We can definitely consider ourselves massive underdogs in the context of the Champions League and view results moreso through that lens, than the "yeah but PL resources" lens.

Yeah, but they should've had another two.

Unbelievable performance from the lads tonight.

You play like we did against one of the best sides in the world, with all the injuries we've got and all the games we've played this season. Brilliant.

Still on this tie.

Which is all fair enough I think - they’re a bigger club with more resources, I think we played well tonight, and I also think we play multiple matches each season against sides with similar resources and don’t think it miraculous when we put in a performance.

I do find it much harder to romanticise these games than I used to.

Barcelona are one of the elites of world football and we've just outplayed them in a CL knockout game. How you got from that to "we're League Oneeeee" is a mystery.

Can’t feel anything but proud after that, there was a second goal there for us so I’m glad we tried to go for it. Setup was class, players were class, crowd was class. We reduced Barca to long ball football for long periods, which is ridiculous.

Referee can get in the fucking bin, mind. Honking.

Think 1-1 suits us better than 1-0 going to their place, we have to approach it like a one-off cup final.

Did anyone else in the stadium notice the ref when the 4 minutes were up? Barca were on the attack which they got the pen from, and the ref was in the centre circle jogging slowly as he was taking a message into his headphones. Lasted about 5 seconds but he was being told something. I jokingly said to the lads around me, he's been told to keep playing until they score, then guess what happened next.....
