Barcelona 7-2 Newcastle United (8-3 agg.) (18/03/26) | post-match from pg. 75

Poor defending overall really. Conceded a silly set piece and then pointless pen. I'd argue Elanga was pulled down by his shoulder and should've equally been a pen.

Regardless, this isn't insurmountable. Would like to see Tino on. Players need to continue believing they can beat this rancid lot. I believe. Howay :indi:

Yup he just needed to get an arm across him to slow him down and then let him go

Disappointing to be behind, but what a superb half of football. We have played without fear and are still in this game - they are terrified of our pace.

whatever happens - proud tonight that we haven’t rolled over. 👍😊

Yep, the contact didn’t cause him to fall, he fell because he wasn’t going to get the ball, you can see the moment in the replays when he decides to go down.

Muted the TV and focused on the forum, can't stand that little cunt

Get the commentary from the club site. A bit of pausing either way gets it in sync. Much better experience than ‘can’t take your eyes off it’ Hoddle.

Love my club , let's go to the Nou Camp and have a right fucking go at them. People talk about the Liverpool way or the Manchester United way . That's the fucking Newcastle United way.  Howay the lads !!

Unlucky. Yamal should be banned from last week. Plus should have had pen, yellow on Cancelo, and yellow for rugby tackle on Joelinton.

Lucky in still having 11 but the only decision that's marginally gone for us.

They can't stop us creating chances, so this is still game on. Must get Trippier off because he's costing us. Keep it 11 vs. 11, which may mean have to take big Joe off if they're provoking him, and we're still in this

I think some of you may need to take your black and white specs off. If we got a penalty given against us for the Elanga one we would be absolutely raging. Ref has been shit but could easily have sent Trippier off so at least we are still in it

Whatever happened to double jeopardy? I thought they changed the rule so that if a penalty was awarded, no red card would be awarded? I know Tripps only got a yellow but I've seen plenty get sent off recently when a penalty was given. Did the rule changed or did I dream that it was ever a thing.

Anyway, awful time to lose a goal. You can only come from behind so many times.

We're still doing better than many cartel clubs (so far). A really good first half until the penalty and another moment of conceding a minute after scoring AGAIN. It is Barcelona though so it's great that we're still in with a chance at half time.

Come on the Toon, give us a result to remember.

Defo chucks himself to the floor. Weak as piss from the ref.

We've been really good, two brain farts aside, and still well in the tie. Elanga and Barnes are causing them all sorts of grief in behind.

The refereeing has been absolutely abysmal, mind. How Fermin and Cancelo have escaped without a yellow card is completely beyond me.

Tripps way out of position the move before that as well, nowhere near his man on the back post

I noticed that. Wasn’t even in the same time zone as the Barcelona player. Makes far too many shit decisions as he’s got no pace.
