It's not about whether we believe x, y, and z or not, it's about the impact leaks have on the club's ability to get signings done and the reputational damage it does when a series of seemingly dead cert signings end up somewhere else and we looks unprofessional, incompetent, slow, gullible, and more, take your pick.

Apolz. When you said you were a transfer rumour fiend, I thought you meant you're one of them lot who scours the Twatter for anything NUFC related and believes what they read.

Anyhoo, journalists often make up the leaks and post them on the Twatter. It's how they earn money these days.

If you, like me, don't read the Twatter, then we don't need to worry about the "leaks" because they make no difference to us. We're not reading them.

I genuinely didn't give a shite if we signed this kid or not. He either turns up in our awful new shirt or he doesn't. The rest is just noise, mainly to generate clicks and cash for people on the Twatter.

Don't really know what thread to put this is tbh so here it is.

There are ALWAYS ways to work smarter though isn't it? We can talk for months on repeat about cartels, different regulations and all that jazz. But we can still actively choose to go about our business in other ways. We have to box clever, we've got to get in fast and get bids accepted and have the player make a decision then off we pop to the next if it's a no.

We do seem to be making good progress on the business/commercial side of things and that part of the market is really, really tough at the moment. We will build our spending power at a faster rate than most of the others and that will of course help going forward.

We've had a good run these last few years with PIF/Eddie at the helm and had some great success a long the way. Last summer and last season was a de facto shit show, and we will be paying for that this window. Whose responsibility that is I have no idea, it's probably a mix of things.

The point is, the owners has hired the right types of people at different levels of the club. We SHOULD have a functioning team to be able to better ourselves. It's frustrating as fuck to get hijacked over and over again but let's not get dragged down in this supernegative cuck way of blaming everything and anything but ourselves. We might not own 100% of our destiny, but we can surely do things in another way to kickstart the next chapter. Work smarter, faster and be a bit more ruthless.

The Isak saga last year has definitely opened up some cracks and if we have to rip up the team and start again I'd say that we most definitely have the right manager in charge as well. Let the moaners leave, sign younger players on the up, let Eddie work his magic with a team of underdogs lead by Bruno and we'll have a much better season next year. The momentum needs to shift, let's have a clear out and go again.

🤷🏽‍♂️ Newcastle now trying to get to the bottom of what happened in the last 24 hours, but there was always top competition for the winger last few weeks.

I've just emailed [email protected] and said if everyone puts their name in a ballot, I'll randomly choose a lucky winner and explain to them the definition of the word "gazumped".

The lucky winner can then share that definition with everyone else in the organisation.

Assuming Gakpo is going, but Muñoz or Rio are going to be disappointed this season for the scousers.

Also after that £70m winger from Germany (ivory coast) as well. Diomande or s9emthing.

All part of being at a top club, no?
I hate Liverpool as much as the next guy but we could do with a bit of their ruthlessness and proactivity tbh.

No surprise the lad chose Liverpool over us like. We're still miles away from being as attractive as the top 5 or 6 clubs. Paying bigger wages probably wouldn't make a difference here either. They're a huge albeit wanker of a club. Just no competition sadly.

Fucking around on fees has cost us. We could have had this sorted 3 weeks ago. That was the point in selling early. We've done nothing with the supposed advantage. Saying Liverpool has always been in the background is bollocks. We should treat every deal like one of those cunts is ready to swoop, so we put aggressive offers down and get it signed. Pathetic by the club once again. The project is completely finished due to board level incompetence.

I don't understand how you get this from what is being reported

The fee didn't matter, we agreed the deal. Even if we paid the full release clause (which wasn't needed) he could still have just said wait 24hrs while my agent flushes out better options.

This would've been very quick, if it had happened. I don't speed is an issue here.

Just negative hyperbole for the sake of it at this point, proper flailing you like.

“Know your place in the food chain” move by the Bindippers. Football privilege at its best.

Hopefully the club has a convincing pivot on this one, as opposed to last summer’s incoherent trolley dash.

It's grim, but to be honest I'm not sure how much more we could have done if everything was agreed and a medical planned but behind the scenes Munoz and his team were stringing us along waiting for a bigger fish to take the bait.

It's a shitty situation and it makes me hate modern football more than it makes me angry with the club. It's just where we are in the football food chain and likely always will be.

Also, fuck Munoz, I only want players who genuinely want to be here and appreciate the opportunity, we have enough shitebags in our team right now without adding another.
