Lush Vlad
Fanboy wankers on twitter that have their twitter name as their favourite player. Usually with the profile pic of said player, as well. Saw one earlier "LacaRambo" with Lacazette and Ramsey as the pic

Commentator goes "beyond Newcastle's wildest dreams!!!!" Leeds United, aye, fucking Leeds went 1-0 up at home to Man United in the F.A Cup, and Peter Drury came out with "You tell them dreams aren't possible" when the camera was on the Leeds fans. They're desperate to enforce this whole can't compete/plucky underdog bollocks at every turn. Exactly why people like Pardew are perfect for Sky. UncleBingo
The fucking drum in the Gallowgate today. I might have been a bit intolerant due to last night's drink, but no, just no.

Pilko
Done to death (no joke intended), but minute's applause. Just stand in silence for 60 seconds. It's not fucking hard. Think the first time I remember it turning into a minute's applause was for George Best and ever since then it's just taken over. Disagree tbh. In a lot of circumstances applause is better; when celebrating the life of someone who had a good innings and didn't die in some atrocity or disaster of course. One of my pals is a Blackburn fan, he said years ago they had 2 minutes silence for Jack Walker at the first home game after he died; totes emosh, not a dry eye in the house, almost eerie quietness even after the 2 minutes were over... and Blackburn two goals down within 15 minutes. Always stuck with me that.
Guest
I'm talking about things like for the 96. Fairly certain against Palace it was meant to be a minute's silence then everyone started clapping.
Pilko
Oh aye, as I sort of alluded to there, time and a place for both applause and silence.
loki679
Oh aye, as I sort of alluded to there, time and a place for both applause and silence. And a football match is rarely it.

joeyt
Not really a massive pet hate because I find it quite amusing but when commentators or pundits say 'no disrespect' right after disrespecting a team
HaydnNUFC
English commentators saying "Balenthia" It's Valencia you c***s. Is "Balenthia" not the correct pronunciation?
sbnufc
English commentators saying "Balenthia" It's Valencia you c***s. Is "Balenthia" not the correct pronunciation? If you're speaking Spainsh, aye
Guest neesy111
English commentators saying "Balenthia" It's Valencia you cunts. No it's not. You pronounce V in spanish as B.
Away Day Gadgie
I agree with sbnufc. There's no need for English people to pronounce it like that (unless maybe you're in Spain). Just call it Valencia like normal people do man.
Guest neesy111
So in that case, people should change their pronunciation of players as well?
HaydnNUFC
Was thinking that.
Away Day Gadgie
Nah not really. I personally wouldn't do it. The only way i would change it is if there was a danger that a Spanish person wouldn't understand what i meant. But that's not likely since i'm pretty sure the Spaniards are used to Brits and our shitty pronunciations by now. Absolutely no need to try and sound intelligent or cool, or whatever it is these commentators are trying to achieve.
HaydnNUFC
BTW I don't pronounce Valencia like "Balenthia" or Barcelona as "Barthelona", but it just seems an odd thing to have as a pet hate. And I don't think commentators are trying to sound intelligent or cool when they say it, they're just pronouncing it, well, correctly.
Away Day Gadgie
I find it irritating like. Sure i mentioned commentators doing it with players names a couple of weeks ago. Didn't know there was a ruling council on what you're alllowed to have as a pet hate on here mind
