Ash
I might be able to find a photo I've taken of it to do a calculation, but that seems like a dangerous amount of maths. Doesn't need to be an exact measurement, just a rough idea.

Doesn't need to an exact measurement, just a rough idea. It's about 6 foot. Went on the tour last year with the boy and the bloke mentioned it. The pitch is virtually level but the advertising hoardings sink by about 6 foot from one end to the other.

Had a massive falling out with a mate who said the slope didn't exist even though it was the most obvious thing ever from the hoardings.
Jill
Had there 6 foot is fucking massive! What gradient does that make (midds)?

midds
Had there 6 foot is fucking massive! What gradient does that make (midds)? Not very much over the course of 110 yards (or whatever) tbh! Had a little kick about on the pitch after the tour and you hardly even notice the slope. It does tail off a little towards the Gallowgate but nothing that's going to make any real difference to anything. Purely placebo stuff.
cp40
The pitch used to have a bit of a hill in the middle as well, think it was leveled off when the stadium was expanded? Can clearly remember being in the west stand paddocks and not being able to see the feet of the players on the east stand side.

I used to sit in the east stand benches a lot in the early 80's and at the front of the paddock before they put the benches in and like you say there was a sort of mound in the middle and you couldn't see the players feet and lower legs at the opposite side. Guest Howaythetoon
Didnt Gary Neville say it was like running up a hill? My mate has played at SJP a few times and he says it's very noticeable, the slope.

henke
Apparently St Marys is the only top flight pitch not to have any camber at all. Or at least it was a few years back when I was told that nugget. The camber at sjp is nothing unusual but the slope certainly is.
