Fill it with radgies who'll make lots of noise and bait the away fans like we used to do up there when it was the singing corner. In reality they'll charge £60 a ticket and it'll be full of people who want to sit down and not get involved in all that carry on.

Yeah, if it wasn't for the ticket prices it's 100% the way to do it, put radgies who just want to go to the game next to the away fans. The ticket prices will probably keep the radgies away but I can't object to the thinking if it's basically cash turnstiles for the day
Superior Acuña
Happy about the reduction in family are but absolutely shouldn’t be accepting year on year price increases as normal.

This increase won’t even generate £3m, despite tickets averaging around £75 already. ‘Need to balance affordability with remaining competitive.’ Aye, reet. Hope Hopkinson’s involved in a house fire. Disco
Are those matchday tickets walk up and pay on the door or what? I've sat in that block a few times in the last couple of seasons on the Member resale so I'll be a miffed if there's less tickets available that way. In theory it is a good idea though. Leazes1986
I just can't imagine in 2026 that we would release tickets on the turnstile where you would have a massive queue of people waiting in the hope of buying a ticket, with some missing out after standing waiting for potentially hours. Kilcline
I reckon that matchday sales bit is just going to be a 10am online sale on the day of the game, no chance there'll be walk ups or anything like that. The club will spin it as "another chance to get a ticket" so when they stiff members by allocating more to the ballot or doing this £720 for shite scran and a normal seat carry on they can copy and paste the old "Members have another chance to secure their ticket in the 10am sale on game day" and "we guarantee an extra block of tickets will be on sale on the day of the game for members who have not yet guaranteed their ticket." Interesting that the FAB statement about the ST price rise mentions the club were thinking of adding extra booking fees, presumably that would have been an extra tax on members to go with the extra fiver a ticket or whatever it's going to be. stozo
Think the price rises are inevitable until there is PL wider action. A 5% rise actually sees us fall further behind Man U on revenue (and thus SCR) as they've done 5% as well, have got more seats and the 5% is on top of a higher base. Have seen some saying the SCR impact is negligible but this rise alone allows us to put probably £10k per week extra on the wage bill and, more importantly, the impact on a single year from an SCR perspective is negligible but if you don't do it and other teams keep compounding 5% rises, then it very much starts to matter a few years down the road. NWMag
What should happen is that the club/a coalition of clubs need to raise it at a PL meeting that, rather than raise ticket prices, club owners can input more money to cover the cost of the rises without it being affected by FFP. this means the clubs revenue still increases in line with ticket rises but it doesn’t come at the cost of the fans. Newintoon
Really hope they make couple blocks next to away fans safe standing and make it clear it’s a singing section
OptimusSlime
Wait for the price rises if / when move to a new stadium. Was on average 25% for spurs and 15% for Everton. Expect 5% per annum in the meantime the club safe in the knowledge someone else will buy your seat if you can’t or won’t pay. Not surprised platinum club has had a steeper hike remained very competitive for a premier league padded seat, could see that continuing to climb. i expect the family enclosure to get gradually phased out as kids age out. Live events (sport/gigs) are absolutely booming and you can be sure prices will only go one way until or unless demand falls away.

This, and it will still be locked to members only. The club have already said that they want to know everyone who comes into the stadium, and they won’t want to diminish the membership as a product. Some people estimate that we have about 100k memberships, and that was a few years back. So taking those numbers, and the price of memberships, somewhere between £3m-£4m. patrone
Ref the "match day sales" section I can't see how, or why, they'd bother doing it if it was just for members to buy on the day. They may as well leave a random amount dotted around the stadium if it's going to be members only Besides the KO could be at anytime on the day. Makes much more sense they'll have a old style box office, turn up and buy style for that section Imo of course 🤷
Loki679
Wonder if the spike in oil prices might get this lot feeling flush enough to open the chequebook on a new stadium and training ground.
Whitley mag
Price increases feel unnecessary and club executives under pressure to continue year on year growth. They need to deliver on sponsorship and infrastructure projects, instead they hit fans again. If these increases keep match day tickets frozen for members it would be somewhat justified, as members bored the brunt of substantial increases last year. I doubt it though and think we’ll see more increases on match day tickets, which I think are reaching the limit now for our area. I suspect we’ll start to see empty seats soon as has happened at the Etihad. We don’t have London wages and we don’t have tourist support of Liverpool and Man U to fill empty seats regularly. In favour of smaller family enclosure long overdue and jury out on this red section of match day sales. This season has shown that for some games re-sale tickets on the day haven’t sold, can’t imagine they risk leaving 500 seats back on a Wednesday night for Bournemouth in January at £60 quid a pop. They simply won’t sell and match going habits have changed unfortunately. I suspect match day sales simply means they’ve emptied the red section of any season ticket holders for the purpose of renewals.

There hasn’t been any serious PIF-related sponsors for three years at this point. I wouldn’t hold my breath for many changes any time soon - folks are just going to be charged more. And modern football doesn’t like the idea of ST holders.
