I'm not usually looking at the stadium exterior when I'm inside the stadium, mind.

I'm looking at the stadium exterior plenty on a matchday and during the rest of the week, though, and it currently gives me a warm fuzzy glow. Don't really want to lose that if possible.

Not sure it would. Here we are just 5 days away from one of our biggest home games in years v Arsenal and you can go on the site now and buy a corporate seat if you like. Still 47 seats available in Wings when I checked before.

For general seating our demand will be up there with any club. For corporate seating we're miles away. Put simply people up here just don't have the money.

Don’t lose sight of the fact that our Corporate experience is shite and doesn’t represent value for money

I’ve been in the Barracks and felt like I got ripped off for the price of the ticket

They’re also having to ship some corporate out to Hadrians Tower (and Fenwicks?) for the pre-match, which is ludicrous

I’m lucky enough that I could afford corporate tickets if I wanted to treat myself, but no way I’m paying those prices for what I get in return at SJP. It’s daylight robbery

It's going to occupy a whacking part of the city and form an important part of its international identity. Why wouldn't you want to ensure it looks the part? If after a while it's made out of fraying, discoloured lumps of plastic we'll regret it.

A standard premier league ticket barely represents value for money any more :)  I had always assumed that corporate was really designed for people who aren't actually football fans but wanted to experience the thrill of seeing and hearing more common folk roaring at stuff, maybe that was wrong

I walked into the Barracks by accident last match and I didn’t realise I was in hospitality except that Ruel Fox was there.

There’s nothing “corporate” about it, that’s for sure

When I was in there the queues for the bars were massive, there was a covers band playing Britpop tunes so loud that you couldn’t hear yourself think and I got a free shawarma wrap and some chips for my bait. The seats are nowt special either.

Think it was £180 per ticket. Felt like I’d been scammed

Went to Eagles hospitality which was similar, but only £50 per person.

I know the Barracks is the cheapest offering TBF.

For a new stadium I like that mockup someone did with the stone outside making it look like / match the architecture on Grey Street.  Can't find the image of it now but it looked mint.

plus VAT I think - sure mine was £225. Compare that to Birminghams offering for us (which they’ve hiked up as it’s obviously a high profile game for them )2 course meal and free drink! I enjoyed it (the barracks) but as you say it wasn’t VfM - most of the people in there (those that I know) are small businesses putting it through the books rather than wealthy individuals.

And desperate fans shunted out of seats for even more expensive hospitality, at least in my case in the barracks.

Fucking hate the place.

Did they let you change the seat?

From gallowgate club to barracks.

Even that was a massive ordeal which rumbled on for months. They would not accept me taking a ticket in standard areas at all.

I remember that. Probably worth speaking to the Ombudsman about TBH.

Not sure who this fella is, or what I'm looking at, but some red lines and blue lines. An interesting yellow line too.

Wonder if that is the feasibility study?

If it is, I like how they highlighted Leazes Terrace and still decided to outline a new stadium on it.

Brick by brick to Beamish, confirmed.

Think I might be swayed by the idea of the club buying up Leazes Terrace and Saint James Street and expanding the stadium.

Not sure if this was already a thing but if that's based on my earlier post then full disclosure I was just making it up and I've got no idea if they'd be allowed to make Leazes Terrace into an ultra classy conference centre hotel and bars venue

Might solve the problem like

Looks to me like...

Red = Key boundary lines. Stadium and two streets of terraces.

Blue = Traffic route

Yellow = Metro line and potential extension

I very much doubt we’d have a bubble effect of cladding, the only bubble effect I think we could go for, is something like the Sage.

The stadium like it or not is going to have things like restaurants and bars within it that are open on non match-days. This is going to require the stadium to have some sort of street level and possibly upper levels of openness/frontage. Blank wall/cladding isn’t going to work, and we’ll need this street level interaction for the day to day amenities to function. Let’s assume that we are locating it in Castle Leazes, or Leazes Park, are you really going to blank out a view to those parks from inside the stadium? Are you really going to cut off the building from the outside? If you are just strolling through the park and see a building with no activity, you’ll just ignore it. Open it up, some walls of glass with people drinking and having meals etc inside it, and you are tempted to go in.

Even if we have the stadium on the arena site, the same rules apply for the riverside.

Suggests he has seen plans for new stadium and the new build isn’t as far in the park as what was shown on that YouTube video. If that’s the case we would need a temporary home whilst it’s built.

Christ, reading that thread is giving me a worse headache than the one time I got pissed on whiskey.  Just reads like ITK wankers at crossed wires to me.
