Charnley went on: "Does it mean at some point in time we would like to update the training ground? Absolutely, yes.

"It is about priorities. It doesn’t stop us doing what we need to do on a daily basis.

"Our pitches are very good, our gym is perfectly adequate and functional.

Although, there have been upgrades to the training ground and despite a recurring picture of a paddling pool used outside as an ice bath, the club is understood to have a paddling pool inside the complex now.

We've never had it so good

🤣 Righteo and your reasoning?

Because nothing they have done commercially suggests that at any point they are going to announce a hugely expensive super stadium that will take years to build. We do not feel like that project at all for them. Not bothered personally- I love SJP

So you’re totally guessing?

They’ve doubled the commercial revenue twice.

What’s the expectation for a new stadium in terms of sorting people out though? Last I heard- March, was it?- it was 65,000. That will just be swallowed up by corporate. Unless we’re shit by then, I suppose.

Nah, there might not be many/any more ST’s, but there would definitely be some increase in the standard match day ticket availability I would have thought.

Even if it was only 5k, it’d still probably make a bit of a difference to ballot success rates I reckon.

Even if we build a new stadium I wouldn't bank on their being more ST - they make money from day trippers/corporate - not ST holders.

Agreed, I would suspect there’d be few, if any, additional ST’s, but there would (IMO) be at least reasonable increase in the number of ‘ballot’ tickets available.

I am ST holder and I am for a new Stadium as for me it's the only we will ever be able to compete.  St James' just doesn't generate enough - especially from non football events
