Since you’re able to predict the future with such absolute accuracy can you tell me which nag is gonna win the 14.40 at Kempton today and I’ll whack my life savings down on it. Thanks in advance. West Han had owners who were happy to take an athletics stadium in place of a football stadium so long as they got it on the cheap. Everton's stadium when it was planned was designed not to take on the elite clubs, but to make Everton the best of the feast in terms of attendance, and revenue, and get the away from a stadium that they couldn’t feasibly expand and had features such as wooden seats, and support columns in front of seats. There’s zero evidence in relation to NUFC because we have zero information on their plans. So to say any new stadium would definitely be shite, or alternatively that it’ll definitely be ace shows that the person is making that statement subjectively not objectively which in turn suggests that the person isn’t someone with a balanced or well thought out opinion. West Ham fans don’t like their new stadium, cogito ergo sum, if we get a new stadium that we currently have no information about, it’ll be shite. That’s just ridiculous. And I agree about that. Modern football is corporatised wank, so a modern football stadium might well corporatised wank. But at the moment we know nowt so it’s absolutely pointless making your mind up and saying you know exactly how it’ll be. I prefer to cross the river when I come to it. NONCE My points are all about focusing on the tangible not the expected, you wanksplat We haven’t seen any stadium plans, so people can’t pass judgement on what a new stadium would be like, because the plans for that stadium don’t exist. They’re not tangible. And you can’t say a hypothetical NUFC stadium will be shite, just because West Ham have a shite stadium. What you could say is “If we have a stadium designed like West Ham’s, I think it’d probably be shite for the same reasons their fans say theirs is shite” Edited January 10 by bobbydazzla
andy67
As an outsider I don’t understand people who want to move from St James Park, at the moment it’s a little bit lopsided but this could be rectified by extending round the Gallowgate so it’s the same as the Milburn and Leazes and then adding one smaller single tier to the east stand joining the roofs. I believe there’s enough room behind the east stand for one single tier only problem being the right to light issue for the listed buildings behind, but if bought by PIF I think there already owned by a Saudi company the right to light issue would no longer be a problem . Capacity 65000- 70000 ? The buildings behind could then be used for various purposes by the club, offices accommodation, bar’s maybe a club museum The cost, I’m sure it will be less than 1 billion, I’ll be surprised if it was more than 500 million but a lot less than the 2 billion plus being quoted for a new stadium ! Allegedly a Gallowgate extension is an option they’re looking at, but there’s also lots of debate about how difficult it would be to raise the Gallowgate higher Also any extension to the East Stand comes with massive problems for the obvious reasons. Also the East Stand is ancient and needs a full overhaul, it’s from the 70’s. And the Milburn and Leazers need a proper refresh, they’re 25 years old and showing their age now. And we’d still have a lopsided stadium. Hence why a move to something purpose built from scratch is appealing to some people. I disagree, by extending the Gallowgate they'll have three stands the same, the Lease's and Milburn at present are i believe two tiers higher than the East stand, If the east stand was raised by one tier they could then join all the roofs together giving it a cohesive almost seamless look and a lot less lopsided Regarding the East stand being ancient, I note Liverpool have expanded three of there stands two recently and pretty sure the main dated back to the 60s or even 50s so don't believe its a insurmountable refurbishment problem Edited January 10 by andy67

Half the ground is surrounded by water, so all fans have to come to it from the other half and work their way round. It's not the best planning.
