A man who was physically forced to celebrate a cup win and a man who danced because his team scored a goal in a final.
-
Could easily get the same £125k + a 8-figure signing-on bonus next summer at Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City or Liverpool.
-
Getting them signed before the 115 charges.

James Trafford: NUFC in talks with Burnley over £30m transfer (Various)

On the other hand he is young and rated whereas Sean is proven to be crap. -
There were precisely TWO mackems at Blaydon comp when I went there. First one - CDT teacher. Actually from Sunderland, decent bloke actually. For a mackem 'Mackem' #2 - contrarian little shit who 'supported' Sunderland just to try and be different, never went to one match as far as I know. Never once seen one of these cunts wearing their colours in the Blaydon / Winlaton area. Or heard that wretched fucking accent Edit: I know this isn't the arguement being made but I wouldn't put it past them to retcon any of this area into being some kinda former stronghold, dafties.

Guehi is only on 50,000 a week. He would probably 2.5 times his wage at Newcastle and play UCL football. I think he would be interested.
-
Sometimes you need to pay the price because the benefits of owning that thing now can far outweigh the benefits of saving some money but then possibly not getting that thing. Howe’s heavy insistence on speed of action has me rather spooked, I’ll admit.
-
Not like Hope to be wrong.
-
Yeah I think Guehi is probably happy to run down his contract, might not even be that arsed about coming here. But I think Palace would rather have £35-40m than nowt. Unless they have money to burn.
-
Still alive Christ it’s June 11th not deadline day. Gonna be a long summer
-
Agree. It's in Guehi's interest to reject a transfer this summer and assess his options next year. Get a colossal signing on bonus to boot.
-
That's still my point. I don't think they will take a 40% reduction on their value, especially as Guehi won't push for it. I think 15%-30% tops. If we land him, it's not going to be much of a cut-price deal*. It's been a long time since a PL club has done that with a top player because of a contract situation without the player pushing. Again, I don't think they are dependent on his sale, to get his replacement. *Unless Palace circumstances suddenly shift. I also think Guehi is happy to run down his contract. He'll get more money and a bigger club if he does so. What are Palace going to do - not play him?
-
If only it were that simple. It all depends on demand for a player at the end of the day. If there are a few clubs eyeing up Longstaff we might well get £20m.

It's more like negotiating a house price than buying an item in a shop. -
“We bid £6” ”No, it’s £6.50” ”We refuse to pay this “Saudi Tax” fee!”
-
They might not accept 50% but they might accept 60%. At the end of the day they will need to buy a replacement. £35-45m will make that a lot easier than £0.

The media was always the worst part about Ange. Said from the start that their obsession with his casual nature would be what pisses me off rather than the casual nature itself. And then the constant aim of getting a rise from him once he started to crack, whether he didn't help himself or not. Classic build them up to knock them down cunt of an profession.
-
I'd be wanting atleast 20 million for Longstaff if this is the way teams value there players he's only had one good season in the championship and they want 40 million. 😂
-
Was going to use a similar analogy myself. I do wonder if some posters have ever bought a house let alone one in a chain Unless you can afford to pay over the odds or one of the biggest salary paying clubs then transfer windows will always be hard going forward when looking for players that fit our remit and improve the 1st team greatly.
-
That's why managers and boards are often singing from different hymn sheets. It was Eddie who has asked for the deals to be done quickly, but the players he wants are usually overpriced, so with PSR tying one hand behind our backs, unfortunately we have no choice but to haggle the price down. Which means it will drag on longer than Howe would like.

Everything we do is tbf.
