The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Technically its not. But the odds of us missing out of Europa is miniscule. This has to happen: Palace wins against City. Forest win both their games. Villa win both their games. Chelsea win with alot of goals vs Man Utd. Newcastle losing both their games. Odds of that happening is like 1000/1 -
Was an incredible atmosphere for most of the first half, but good lord does the trauma of past failures rear it's ugly head when the match is on a knife-edge. I think some people genuinely don't know how to handle the pressure, so immediately revert back to slagging off the players as if it's a comfort blanket or something. The flak Barnes was getting from the lads behind me in the Leazes west corner for having the bad fortune to be having one of those games in front of goal, fuuucking hell.
-
Wouldn't be surprised if he has done some damage even though he played on. Was convinced he'd done his ACL again when he went down and didn't move. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious as he definitely didn't seem too comfortable after it happened.
-
Btw, lowest we can finish is 6th now. Surely we're talking Europa at the minimum? Done the league predictor, set it to us losing and everyone winning, plus all 3 outcomes of Forest V Chelsea, and we can't finish lower than 6th. https://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/

There are some scenarios where we finish behind Villa and still get 5th. Lets say Chelsea draw against Forest last game, they'll have 67p. 1 point vs Arsenal could be crucial then. 2 draws also puts us ahead of Forest if they win both.

I have City as a dark horse -
Looking at our first 11, we are a GK, RCB and RW away (maybe a CM too ..) from having a team that can beat anyone on their day Then some depth up front, CM and LB for a quality squad.. I really hope we can make some improvements this summer and do something special next season, think with Howe it's possible

Dirty pricks kept doing it and the ref didn't do anything about it

Arsenal vs. Newcastle United: 18/05/25 @ 16:30 (Sky Sports)

I want the win and second place. Every position is worth 3m in prize money and finishing 2nd while qualifying for CL for the second time in three years and winning a domestic cup has to make us an attractive destination in the eye of prospective players this summer. Would signal this project is going places. -
If the lower gallowgate was safe standing, the place would be rocking for 90 minutes.

Let’s say we qualify. Who do you think will miss out? -
Some thoughts. Manure & Spuds fielding weakened teams, or, giving fringe players a chance to impress before the big final. Arsenal are lacking upfront options, you just know Isak will turn it on, show them what they are missing (plus he's due a good game) Forest are as good as out now with the fat mess having a go at the manager.
-
Just been watching bits from the Man Utd game. Wan Bissaka was terrorising them as a left wing back for West Ham Lost count of the number of players that left there and turn into twice the player elsewhere. Crazy.
-
In 30 years of going, that first 10 mins was the loudest I’ve ever heard the ground. No idea why or how, but that was absolutely mental.
-
And going deep into the UCL knockout stages. Fantastic stuff if it happens. Real progress.

By beating Bournemouth.

When we qualify for the CL I fail to see where we go from there. A run in the CL will be glorious but how the fuck do we better this season?

It would be a fantastic, but useless result(most likely). -
Yeah, but I was expecting a better performance from Fulham vs Villa and Chelsea, and Bou vs Villa. Especially as they were both fighting for 8th.
-
It was the corner flag he held up he didn't hold that banner up.

Honestly mate it's like looking at a load of cardboard cut outs. Looked across at the corner, they're giving it all they've got. Upper tier looked canny, same with the lower but then you've got the middle tier who contributed absolutely nothing to proceedings. I get that the vast majority of them have had those seats since 1994 and are knocking on a bit now but they're totally ruining what is our "home end". Outside of moving to a new ground I'm not really sure what can be done about it however. Like I said Leazes sounded very loud on the occasions they sang and on a couple of occasions when both them and the Gallowgate were singing at the same time we would join in with the Leazes because it was louder from there.
