It's interesting isn't it because Forest thing he's quickly becoming their best player. I agree, I think he's good but he's not as good as our first 3. However, with Joelinton now out perhaps we wouldn't notice the drop off so much? Glad he's getting regular game time but he would never have got a chance here and I do think Forest is his level unfortunately.

GK RW CB ST At the very least, surely? Could easily see us doing something at CM and wouldn't be surprised if we signed yet another GK and shuffled a few of our existing ones out: GK: ?????, Pope/Dúbravka, ?????, Ruddy/Gillespie RB: Livramento, Trippier, Krafth CB(R): ?????, Schär, Lascelles CB(L): Burn, Botman LB: Hall CM(R): Guimarães, Longstaff/Willock CM: Tonali, Miley CM(L): Joelinton, ????? RW: ?????, Murphy ST: Isak, ?????, Osula LW: Gordon, Barnes Not sure we'd want to do too much more than that, really, and even six signings might be a bit ambitious. We'd have two gaps in the 25-man squad still, given Hall and Miley are still classed as U21, and we'd only have one or two club-grown players for Europe, depending on Longstaff staying or going.

Thinking it though, maybe if Longstaff and Willock were sold then we could afford a Wharton (or similar) without losing Joelinton. @Mahoneys Tache is right though, as much as we love Big Joe the clock is ticking on getting serious money for him; as it may well be on him playing in the same style as he currently does.

It's kinda always been this way for me - although not to the extreme. 68 points has been my mark for some time. I didn't think we would get anything from Amex, Villa Park, or Emirates, nor did we need to. So the Amex point is a bonus. If we don't beat Chelsea, Chelsea will get 67 points or more. City will get 67 points or more. Then we are reliant on Villa & Forest faltering. If we don't beat Chelsea, there's a world where they and Forest can draw and get them both qualified. Beat Chelsea. Emirates is a free hit. Beat Everton. CL secured. Simple.

We need at least 6 players of which 3 minimum should upgrade the first XI at GK, RCB and RW Even 6 may be on the light side, if you consider we may be losing Longstaff, Targett, Wilson, Lascelles, Willock, etc This group of lads has won a trophy and it's a nice natural end - now the next phase is due so let's do a proper refresh. I'd like 3 x first-teamers 2 squad players / cover 2 elite youngsters Ideally 1 or 2 would be free transfers As a minimum Schar, Pope, Murphy to become squad players Joelinton competing with another similar for that strong CM role (not Willock or Longstaff) Miley to become valid first replacement cover for Tonali or Bruno Sold: Willock, Longstaff, Dubravka, Vlach, Targett, Ashby, Wilson

Definitely not that simple. It is almost a must not lose game but even then we could win the final two and still get CL. A draw would throw it completely in the balance (depending on other results) and a win would almost see us there but not guarantee it. Huge game either way but not the be all and end all.

Huijsen will be going elsewhere, not sure 3 players is enough either. We surely will have to rotate more next season.

If only it was. -
Dan Burn mate. If we keep Tripps, we aren't signing another LB for the first team.
-
It really is that simple .

More poor planning from Adidas then.

I think a lot depends on who actually goes this summer from the subs

All comes down to Sunday for me, win and we do it. Any other outcome and I think we miss out.

The Chelsea game was already Friday night. -
I disagree on the basis we lost Kelly and he needs replacing What happens if Tino gets a long term injury? Who covers Hall?
-
GK - Trafford CB - Huijsen RW - Mbeumo I reckon

For the first time in as long as I can remember, I’ve got complete faith that there is a calm and measured plan around recruitment. Now the PSR pickle is in hand I am confident that it will all fall into place quickly once the window opens.
