  3. Not sure why people are getting so wound up Man United won. You could tell they had the name on that trophy after the Lyon game and it has been proven countless times over the last few years that they are still capable of winning trophies despite how shit they have been due to the huge resources and wealth they have over pretty much everyone else barring Man City and Chelsea . The only annoying part about it is that it gets them back into the champions league .
  4. I’m hoping all this stuff about Liverpool being average champions, had it easy etc actually gets them in the mindset to finish strong.
  5. It’s good that Forest are faltering. The fixtures have dropped nicely for Chelsea in terms of their Man U and Liverpool fixtures. That’s 4-6 points imo. If they can beat one of us or Forest that will secure CL for them - maybe even just 1 draw. I’ve long felt 68 points would seal it for us and sticking with that.
  6. Anger is directed towards manager, because he cannot buy a whole new team. He has to find a way to get most out of your current players. That is what good managers do. Maybe next season he will improve them, I dont know. The core of the team will still be the same next season. And with money most likely being spent again loads next season (Cunha rumoured already), of course expectations has to be high. If you don't make it to UCL, your team loses money. UCL is what is expected from ManU. Hell, Nottingham, Newcastle and maybe Villa are going there!
  7. I can understand people's concerns. The opta probability says 84 percent but that can swing significantly after just one game week. The Brighton game is an amazing opportunity. Win that and it feels nigh on impossible that we fail to qualify. We should go into that game with such mindset and should not think of it as a 'free hit'. That term gives me awful memories of Pardew's team going to Spurs in 2012 and getting pumped 5-0!!!
  8. I never said we played well though did I? I said we deserved to win. 10 man Lyon, 5 man Lyon, it doesn't matter. We won, and deserved to win. Lyon didn't do enough to beat us. I think the team has a lot of good players, but some poor ones. Money has been spent horrifically over the last few years, but I don't agree at all that it was spent poorly in the summer, which is an opinion a lot of people seem to have. De Ligt, Ugarte, Mazraoui and Zirkzee will play a big part in improving this team. The windows before that though? Absolute disaster. I'm reserving judgement on Amorim. He came in November, and did not want to come mid-season but was given an ultimatum. He was open and honest right away, and has continued to be, and said that we would face an extremely difficult season. "The storm will come. We will be found out." That has ended up being the case, but he has said over time we will improve and get back to where we want to be. We'll give him the time that he deserves. There won't be expectation on him to start being a CL contender next season, but a huge improvement is the absolute minimum. Let's give him a chance instead of writing him off within 6 months. We all know this club was/is a shit show, so it's going to take time. I understand this, but I don't see why the anger has to be directed towards a manager. Amorim didn't hand £1.2m a week to Casemiro, Sancho, Rashford and Mount. Amorim didn't sign Antony for £80m. I personally love Amorim's approach. Refreshingly honest, but extremely high standards for players. I believe at the very least, he can give us a side that dies for the badge. For the fans, removing the toxicity from the club is 100x more important than a trophy.
  9. Rashford ticks very few boxes for us, signing him makes very little sense.
  10. Can someone work their magic so I can on please, cheers! We’ve won the most league games along with Liverpool (14) since Brentford away playing a game less - 74% win ratio - mental

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Eddie Howe isn't signing Rashford in a million years, free or not
  12. Rashford on a three year contract for a low fee could still be a £40m+ commitment. We would likely make him our highest earner, and the deal could potentially drive up wages for other squad members. It's still a significant risk, particularly for a guy that has questionable workrate and doesn't necessarily suit Eddie's style. Of course, if he could rekindle his 22/23 form it would be a no brainer, but that is questionable.
  13. I genuinely don’t understand how anyone is not super confident of top 5! We need to get into our mindsets that we are a very, very good team!
  14. The fans, like you, are saying that you have played well and deserved the win etc. But the fact is: it was 10 man Lyon, you were at home. Yea, getting through the tie is the thing, but you cannot seriously say you played well? If you think you played well, do you think your team is good, the money has been well spent and Amorim is doing good job? Neither of these are true I would say. And if Amorim is doing good work, what would be the expectations for next season? What do you expect? But you do understand when you spend the most/almost the most money to your team, expectations HAS to be high? It doesnt work like that you spend billions of pounds but the fans are ok to be 7th. Those expectations come from everywhere around football. Just like Chelsea, their fans cannot be content with winning UECL and ending up 7th in the league when they have spent a billion dollars on their team.
  15. Imagine this article four years ago?! https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6323386/2025/05/02/newcastle-united-premier-league-title-contenders/?source=user_shared_article Newcastle United, 2025-26 Premier League champions. Is it really that far-fetched?

  18. Your first sentence suggests the level of expectation at us is low as we're happy with beating Lyon, then your last sentence suggests the fans always expect to be challenging for UCL places. So which is it? The unrealistic expectations come from opposition fans, not us.
  19. It just shows the level of expectations at ManU nowadays. Scraping past ten man Lyon AT HOME, is seen as success. Your team is one the richest and biggest clubs in the world, who should get best players and coaches in. Seems like your club has been in a constant turmoil since SAF left, and everytime there is a coach who gets few wins on the bounce, there is this "next season will be ours" -stuff. The big problem is that your squad does not have the players Amorim need, and seems like you don't have the staff or money to fix it in a year or two. But the fans will always expect to be challenging at least for UCL places.
  20. Only reason my aunty isn’t my uncle is because she hasn’t got any plums You were shite, don’t die on the Lyon hill Frogster
  21. Don’t think there’s much love lost between Chelsea and Liverpool either mind.
