It was well known that it was first sung during an event at Balmbra’s. Absolutely minced in the head of you think it’s not associated with Newcastle, much like the new generation of Man Utd fan who actually think Busby’s aces was the original song.
  3. "It is hoped that a compromise will eventually be reached with Trafford still keen on the move, but it could be a transfer that drags on into the summer." Good stuff...
  4. I don't agree at all. Eddie has bedded all new players in slowly. Getting them fit, used to our team ethos, used to the players around trhem, our tactics. It's likely Pope will still start for some time and gently introduce any new GK slowly.
  5. Not sure he has the attitude/work ethic to make it here, but tempting when he's free.

    Ub40 are from Birmingham m8
  7. Howe’s MO has been to bed in new players, particularly younger ones, slowly. Unless Trafford blows everyone away in preseason, I have to imagine Pope will still be #1 to start the season.
  8. Leroy Sane is only 29 though, honestly wouldn't mind having him here
  9. The Villa trainers look much better than ours: https://x.com/man_savings/status/1932744366654710087?t=E95QM-kCePQXmvUuQtSR1A&s=08
  10. Aye, that’s what I was trying to say but worded it badly.
  11. love the odd wiki trawl of the Turkish league to see which blasts from the past have rocked up there
  12. It's journalists filling column inches/needing clicks. A lot of it is guesswork just to keep the clicks coming in.
  13. A Chelsea scheme would be the winner for me. Give people without ST's an opportunity to build up some form of points based recognition from the club for the effort they put in to get to games And the FAB is https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/fans/fan-advisory-board
  14. It annoys me how every report seems to suggest we are surprised at asking prices for our targets. We will have already know this weeks ago.
  15. It was either Trafford Garcia or Chevalier if we want to lock off the position for 5 years minimum. Right age and experience. Garcia has gone and in a way perhaps he would have gone to one of the big teams eventually so good it’s happened now. But Trafford in theory lived in the North, was in Man City, Burnley, Bolton plus knows many of the u-21 guys like Tino Hall and Gordon so can see him being an excellent fit. Get him now even at 30m and you won’t have to worry about it again. It’s a Hall Tino type of purchase neither of which were high priorities at the time but makes a lot of sense in hindsight.
  16. Part of buying successfully is buying at the right time, this involves taking calculated risks. If he stayed at Burnley and carried on like he did last season he’d quickly become a £60/70m player and Man Utd, City, Arsenal would be sniffing round.
  17. It's like buying a house You can research the market, find a property you like and make a sensible offer but that doesn't automatically mean that the owners are obliged to sell it to you And the powers that be at NUFC will know why we're in for Trafford first, there could be many reasons and mark my words, no-one on this here forum will know what those reasons are
  18. Tbf, we aren't exactly desperate fo a GK. We can afford to wait until the price comes down. The only risk is it might go up as well if the cartel clubs suddenly throw their hat in the ring.
  19. I think it's a risk worth taken if the price is much more than our valuation and considering he's not proven yet in PL.
  20. Felix is slow as fuck aswell cannot have anymore of them in the team.
