That Conrad Harder is worth a pickup. An Aldi Haaland.
  6. They're toying with bringing back the totty cam in this competition. We are so back.
  7. Igor Jesus and some other fella I can’t remember are off to Forest allegedly. Seems like they’re really tapping into the Brasilero. Interested to see how he gets on. Can’t help that think that the tournament is going to distort South American competitively further given the prize money. We’ve already seen more and more clubs from Brazil going deep in the Libertadores and Sudamericana as they have the financial advantage whereas back in the it was a little bit more of a lottery who’d make the final stages.

We're not PSG yet, we can't turn generational into several world class pieces on presumably massive wages. We'd turn a generational talent into powder we keep dry trying to avoid point deductions while our targets increase the distance between us and them. We can only close that gap by winning, and this guy will win us things.

These conquered motherfuckers can't throw stones anymore. We get more of their games than they do.
  10. Shit fake tournament and a shit idea tbh, it's just unworkable even if every federation were on the same page and schedule. Instead we're going to run some of the most talented players in the world into the ground so a few thousand people can watch them run around NFL stadiums during Midwestern summers.
  11. Não tem problema! Estevão is now a Chelsea player I believe, Veiga is 30 and I don’t think De Arrescaeta’s that young. Some good players in Brasil don’t adapt well to Europe and those that do tend to be in Spain. Look at Gerson - plays really well for Flamengo but only lasted a season at (was it?) Olympiakos. There are some exceptions thankfully - big Joe, Bruno and, hopefully playing for us soon: João Pedro!!

100%. Missing Luton town Away the season before last and Liverpool home this past one. I’m sure a few more too. His disallowed goals are filth. Utter disgusting filth. Man United away and Arsenal in the cup are absolutley disrespectful hacks at goal like. Bold statement but he’s my favorite player we’ve had since Shearer. And he’s quite close to passing him.

You don’t sell him ever. You also don’t say “involve him in the offense” on a footy forum you’ve been apart of since David Rozenhal was a player for us. cmon Michael! You’re better than this!
  15. favor to their old sporting director? Probably some kind of clause or something of the like. This deal happened far too smoothly.

CONAN! WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE? TO STRENGTHEN YOUR ENEMIES, TO SELL YOUR BEST PLAYERS, TO HEAR THE LAMENTATIONS OF YOUR FANBASE YES ... THIS IS GOOD ... THIS IS GOOD
  17. How is he so cheap? 40£million seems low for a player of his ability. Release clause?
  18. I honestly don't agree with "all" the best, we have talents like Estevão, Arrascaeta, Igor Jesus, and even Raphael Veiga that would start for most prem teams, also, Palmeiras right now is a more expensive team than Porto for example and they don't come close to Flamengo in money, Argentinians like Boca and River will always be tough on "Catimba" and grit alone, but the top BR teams would contend for Europe in most of the top 5 leagues. BTW, Fluminense is a joke in Brazil, they had a lucky spell under Diniz, they also are famous for being relegated on the pitch but not on the league, Botafogo is more of a joke than Tottenham/Arsenal in Brazil in the sense that they just choke everytime since garrincha, they broke that spell last year EDIT: About the calendar, I would LOVE for FIFA to unify it, there has been discussion in making seasons in Brasil like the european ones for at least over a decade EDIT: I'm a few pints in, sorry for the bad grammar, not my first language
  19. I agree, it should be but doesn’t appear to be. All the best South American players play for European clubs so it’s clear the timing of the tournament is important. I was thinking yesterday, why aren’t northern and southern hemisphere league seasons made to coincide. Would it be so bad for European teams to play through the whole summer and have the off season during their winter?

Just keeping him fit and fresh would be a start. When he can press and come deep to be part of the build up he's 4x the player we saw at the end of the season when he was lurking around up top waiting for a ball over or through the defenders.
  21. Well, about the advantage, the oposite has also been true for decades, in the anual intercontinental cup, south american teams would arrive after a 70+ matches season for the tournament while europeans would be mid-season. People will always find excuses, honestly, all bad details aside, I'm just glad to have a "world cup" for clubs like this, this should be really fun for anyone who loves football, specially if this becomes a long living cup EDIT: My team lost the final that gave Flamengo this spot, Fucking dumb CB dived from behind at a Flamengo player on the sideline and got a red card out of nowhere, cost us that game

I mean I hear what you're saying but PSG sold Mbappe then went on and won the Champion's League.
  23. The season in Brazil is less than half way through and being the world club champion has always been a massive thing in Brazil (they are perplexed/don’t believe as to why noone gives s f*ck about it in Europe. The South American teams have a large advantage due to the timing of this tournament but they are also used to playing a lot more football (believe it or not) than European teams.

I maintain that despite his output and numbers we still have no idea how to properly involve him in the offense so the prospect of who he could be is quite frankly terrifying and irreplaceable. He is generational. You don't sell generational.
  25. surely not your only other bugbear? There's a lot to dislike about the competition. I kinda don't mind about Auckland though I agree with everything you say. It's just quite fun watching whipping boys get mercilessly pasted sometimes.

    João Pedro

There's also the possibility of an explosive line up between big Jo and Pedro on the left. And Hall
  27. LFEE

    João Pedro

    And the Everton midfield…
  28. Why not just let them have the moment and the money and the fun. Would be a great moment for these players despite the results
