Drank there since I was 16, Maureen, Staffy, Chunky, Kay have all been the landlords, ladies over that time. Going there in 10 mins.
-
Agreed, the reality is more in the middle
-
Depends on the extremes to be fair. Thinking any player would pick Man United over anywhere else is stupid. Thinking Man United have no pull is also stupid.
-
My two older brothers support Man U, it's not just an online thing
-
That one tweet sums up that useless bald cunt to a tee. Personally I think he's the worst reporter going and an absolute clown
-
100%, that goes for all players as well, probably the reason I still hate Jenas and Parker
-
Had some good afternoons in there back in the day for the Grorud Christmas party
-
Aye bad crack, loads of people from all clubs up and down the country wear a shirt when they're on holiday (especially families). Edit: I agree it's probably a point to go against their rhetoric about is, but just say that then.
-
I did. The Toy Dolls were my very first gig at The Mayfair and they were absolutely shite. 😄
-
Yes, just reopened after a few months. Black n white pub. The bus leaves from there on a match day. New owners have a Dan Burn shirt on the wall
-
Like anyone else who isn't willing to open their minds and join an ambitious club, in an incredibly friendly, football loving city, he can get fucked if he thinks we need to scramble around for him and he can sit and be a benchwarmer at Chelsea instead. If folk don't want us then we don't want them.
-
He just likes water propelling vessels mate.
-
Is the name "The Fountain" a nudge towards the pub in Consett?
-
Other than those who had been paying attention.
-
Yes, I'm Consett and can get to Newcastle in 25mins with a good run. Out grandad and great grandads would've found it much easier to travel to Newcastle rather than Sunderland when football became organised.
-
Because he pretended to be a Geordie for about a decade. They’re absolutely shite and he’s unbearably pretentious.
-
I've only seen it said with a straight face. I think everyone with any experience of Man United's fanbase over the years knows that even when it's tongue in cheek, it's also still what the majority actually believe. I'll admit that it's only online that I've seen it, but it's not just Twitter, it's everywhere.

-
I mean we never got upset about Dave Stewart or the Toy Dolls, did we
-
Have you seen a fan actually saying it with a straight face though? Nobody is saying this stuff except lads on twitter and then other fanbases try their best to jump on it. Of course Man United have pull, but it's obviously combined with very nice wages. Not as high as opposition fans like to think, but high nonetheless.
-
Exactly what I thought. One of their myths is that only Newcastle fans wear their shirts for non football match occasions, like being on holiday, and how its weird wrong etc. Thought I was missing something with all the aggression but apparently not.
-
Mate at work is a Sunderland fan. I’ve always made a point of not discussing our fortunes against them, or mentioning the derby in the 4 years I’ve known him. Even when we beat them last season, not a peep, I even went into that game saying they’d beat us because that’s just what happens. Not a peep from me when we beat them. Even going into their play off final I was kind enough to say good luck to him. He’s just sent me a video of when they beat us at SJP 25 years ago.
-
Aye he does support Middlesbrough. Still lives in Newcastle.

"After having made an initial offer, OM decided to withdraw from the Roony Bardghji case. The 19-year-old winger is still experiencing pain in his knee and OM does not want to take any risks in this operation. Porto is now the only team in the running in the dossier"
