If they go up, we twat them. If they get battered by sheffield we laugh Win win really

Froggy was comparing Hojlund to Isak a few months ago. Sad state of affairs.

Rodrygo is balance with output. Real Madrid selling him is a dumb move, because to get someone that selfishly works hard to offer balance whilst contributing his output will be hard to replace. Side will become unbalanced in attack like we’ve seen PSG over the years.
-
One off game, sides alway have a chance. But Sheff Utd have far too much quality if Sunderland play the same again we’ve seen across two legs. Sheff Utd will take their chances, then off the bench, got far more quality than Sunderland / Coventry. The prem money will be on show and it won’t be a shock.

All this guaranteed 6 points is nonsense like and exactly why I don't want them up. It's not guaranteed at all and anything could happen - Luton beat us last season, Ipswich beat chelsea this season, Southampton drew with City etc there's a chance, and us not beating them would be horrible.

If City goes through these deals it could mean many of their talented youngsters will be on the table. Since the depth & lack of 2nd team is our main concern, we can poach likes of O'Rilley u know in competitive prices.
-
If we were still under the ownership of Mike Ashley and/or being managed by Steve Bruce I'd actually be gutted at the prospect of them getting promoted Whereas knowing the level we are operating at results like this for me are met with a shrug of the shoulders I look at whatever outcome in the final as a win win. They lose at "Wembo" and it will be funny, they get promoted and it will be funny watching them lose most weeks I can never want them to get promoted but there is a part of me that wants them to face the weekly realisation that their suggestion "we'd give PSG a game" or "the standard of the PL outside 2nd* is shite" is a load of bollocks *this number changes based on our league position

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)
Geordie Ahmed replied to Rich's topic in Football
I agree with this, a draw against West Ham is only useful if Chelsea and Villa fail to win at home on Friday and those games are as close to being a done deal as you can get -
Arsenal, City, Chelsea and Villa are all VERY LIKELY to get at least 69 points, so we would need one more win to guarantee top 5. If Villa drop points this Friday, then obviously we would need one point only.
-
Thought it was madness how Sunderland gave full control of the match to Coventry at home. Coventry are a big team and they had 45 crosses (!), were bound to score eventually. It's pretty rare that we have a performance like that.
-
He's 6 months younger than Pope and has a Transfermarkt value of 100k. Swapping Pope for him would be absolute madness.
-
He's free in the summer. I would absolutely get him in, no brainer seeing as he can cover boths sides and has a good amount of experience in Premier League. Schick is a decent shout but I get the feeling he'd cost more than £20M given the season he's having and I think there's better options around who are younger. Wouldn't be disappointed at all to see him here though. Don't want anything to do with Jobe, let him go to Spurs and struggle to adapt to the Premier League there, he's some way off being ready for it.
-
You'd need more sales for that kind of budget
-
Obviously I want Sheff Utd to win. But you're naive to think Mackems don't have a chance. If they win, they deserve it and I will greatly enjoy taking 6 points off them next season.
-
I think Sheffield Utd are better but Mackems aren't an awful team. Their defence is reasonable (for Championship level). If Sheff Utd score early it's game over but they can definitely nibble through. Going to be an interesting game.

It was Barcelona and Real Madrid walloping teams and having head-to-heads to decide things back in the 80s nevermind 7years and its still the same now with no end in sight and all that time everyone knew that was going to be the case. Atletico break it up now and then (allowing for the two freak Valencia, Deportivo seasons). (Real Madrid and Barcelona won the title a bunch of times in a row. Unless you mean La Liga as opposed to the Primiera Division which I guess it was called back then.) Its not been like that in England. If it was I doubt the PL would be what it is.

Have to admit last year I was one of those droning on about not playing him left back. I don't think I was criticizing Burn personally, more Eddie for not recognising that it was a massive weakness for us and whilst long term he has probably been proven right not to have thrown Hall in the deep end. Clearly this year we can see the difference it's made slotting Burn into his more natural position and bringing in Hall as the starting left back. Wouldn't begrudge calls for him winning player of the year, just out of pure consistency every game this year, necessity to hold the defense together along with Schar in the wake of Botman and Lascelles injury problems and ofcourse that cup final performance. Whilst Isak and Tonali are our most talented players, there is something to be said for the likes of Burn and Murphy who have maximised their output this year despite maybe having a lower ceiling in terms of outright talent.

Pretty much every league has only 2-4 teams with a realistic chance of winning the league. Some countries have just one team who win everything all the time bar the odd freak season, PSG, Bayern, Celtic spring to mind. We as Newcastle fans have spent enough time in the doldrums to understand that there's more to football and following your team than who wins the league at the end of the season.

Just finished watching the reply on CBS. Great game, the usual back and forth. Seemed to me Sunderland bottled it until the 122 minute goal. Hats off to Coventry who fought like crazy. Sunderland fans were the epitome of destroyed emotionally when Coventry took the lead.

I know in isolation they are all winnable games for our opponents, but to expect City, Chelsea, Villa and Forest to do as well as they all can from their remaining games isn’t as much of a ‘done deal’ as it seems. I bet if you were to do an acca for 2 city wins, 2 villa wins, a win each for Chelsea and forest, and whatever you want from the Chelsea/forest game, it would be at least 15/1. how many 15/1 bets are classed as bankers? Point is that whilst it will be twitchy until the end, we will probably end up with CL even if we don’t get 3 points from here on in. We only need 3 to guarantee it, so I’m sure 2 draws would be enough.
-
I wouldn’t defend the premier league either, it’s rancid. Barca and Madrid could win 45 out of the next 50 titles and no one would be surprised, I think if I was Spanish I would’ve turned off by now.
-
I thought it was pretty obvious from the moment it happened he should have been subbed off. Especially as they were chasing a goal and even if he was fine it was going to take him a good few minutes atleast to shake off the impact. But with hindsight it's even more damning of the medical staff to have allowed him to carry on.

Deniz Mehmet at Dunfermline is one of the best keepers in Scotland and only has a year left on his contract. I'd suggest snapping him up now,or a straight swap with Dubravka or Pope. Don't miss out on this bargain.
