  2. Sorry, didn't realise they'd made a simple pot draw shit too. Barcelona, Inter, Benfica, Villarreal, Zagreb, Bruges, Athletic and Zvezda then.
  3. If we were picking games on that list above, my preference would be: Pot 1 Barcelona (H) Bayern Munich (A) Pot 2 Juventus (H) Frankfurt (A) Pot 3 Dinamo Zagreb (H) Ajax (A) Pot 4 Athletic Club (H) Celtic (A) I think that's a good mixture of quality ties, at some iconic places, with some heavy home games where it should be rocking, and some winnable games that'll get us in that top 24.
  4. Said this to a mate that supports Man Utd and he immediately agreed. Villa and Chelsea playing any one of the relegated clubs this evening would've been a tougher test for them.
  5. Aye. Think I rather Man U win it. Although Ange in the CL is a certain nightmare. So I really don't care.

I vaguely remember something being mentioned around the cup final saying that Isak was waiting to see what the club do/who they sign this summer before committing to another contract. Wouldn't be surprised if that's nonsense, but it does make sense. Same could go for Bruno, Botman, Tonali, Gordon, Tino and Hall. We really do need to get some of these players tied down to longer contracts this summer alongside actually signing new players. If nothing else it helps to spread the load financially.
  7. You think if Real Madrid played Oxford United 100 times, Oxford would win 2? Like a full-strength Real side? If I was a betting man, I'd put £50 on Man U and Spurs losing. What would that fetch me?
  8. You play two games against two different teams from each of the pots, including the one you are in.
  9. Those teams have pride to play for. Man U/Spurs don't. It's Europa League or nothing.

Probably just as important to get the message out that we will be adding quality to benefit our purples rather than spend his time being asked which purples are leaving. Setting the tone for the club not to be bullied and land a few blows of our own. As I’ve said before this summer is phase 2 of the project.
  11. Sounds very promising! I found a couple of Spanish fans yesterday saying Garcia is generally one of the more reliable journos for the lower level La Liga sides too, so seems to match up.

Howe being rather bullish in the press conference about this transfer window. Think it's the first season he's spoken so openly about having money to spend/PSR not being an issue with spending power. I'm not against it as it does create a bit of buzz and shows some commitment to moving upwards. But it does bring up the whole issue of why Howe has always kept these things on the quiet, we don't want other clubs whacking the prices up when they know we have the money.

In fairness after watching all our games this season barring Palace away I thought Vardy was one of the forwards that give us the most problems away from home. Surprisingly in the air as much as running the channels.

Next person to seriously suggest Vardy needs to be banned for 48 hours.

Nothing really but thought I’d post it anyway fwiw. Angel Garcia was on some Spanish radio channel. He’s the one who came out with us going for Joan Garcia. “What's relevant in this case is the source. Ángel García is no ordinary journalist. His track record in advancing market transactions, both in the First Division and in the lower divisions, is extensive and proven. He's usually one step ahead of the rest, and his information is based on direct contacts with people very close to the moves that ultimately materialize. Joan García, who has been one of Espanyol's pillars this season, has put together high-level performances and has proven ready to make the leap to a demanding environment. The Premier League, given his playing style and physical demands, would be a perfect fit for his qualities: security between the sticks, personality, good footwork, and leadership ability in key moments. "The information I'm receiving is quite reliable from the source; if not, I wouldn't be so involved," he made clear on La Grada Radio, aware of the impact of talking about a player from the First Division and not from his usual environment. "I don't know if he's signed or pending, but everything is very much on track," he added. Ángel explained that he's been in contact with people who handle direct information from the Premier League, and "no matter how much there was talk about Arsenal and the Top 6, they told me I wasn't going to sign there as a starter." And he made a clear statement: "You go to Newcastle on an equal footing with other goalkeepers, not like at other Top 6 clubs where you started out as a substitute." Aston Villa was also among the options floated, "if they let Dibu leave," but it was Newcastle who took the lead. Even with PSG looming at the last minute, according to the journalist: "I asked people close to Joan himself, and they told me that, despite PSG's interference, he was going to go to England. And after consulting them, I agreed with that authority." In short: Joan García is very close to leaving, and according to Ángel García, he would be heading to Newcastle for a significant fee. Meanwhile, Espanyol is quietly working on a transfer market conditioned by his sporting destiny and financial constraints.”
  16. There’s literally no football match where the result is 99% certain. Even Madrid v Oxford Utd there’d be one match where their striker breaks his leg and they score two own goals. That said, Man U and Spurs are really bad.
  17. Like the projected Pot4, but would not be surprised if we got done over again to get us out of the way.
  18. It will become a concern if injuries continue, see how he is after the summer but if it continues into January then hard decisions will be needed.
  19. According to the fan survey, the top three of what fans class as the most iconic/ most important part of the current crest is: 1) The Castle 2) The Shield 3) The Banner
  20. Both of them are fantastic. The top one obviously being a bit brighter looks better on the eye, especially with the seahorse tails standing out more. I'd be happy to move away from the banner at the bottom being blue, not sure it suits the rest of the crest. Albeit it does make it look far more historically accurate.
  21. Europa Final is free on TNT for those who don't have it. I assume that means it's also on YouTube.
