  1. Past hour
  2. Aye, was the local Tier 1 journo for San Sebastian at one of their regional papers who broke the actual transfer news, although I think confirmation from The Athletic and similar came within a couple of hours.
  3. This is absolutely fine, but I'd honestly be shocked if the club went to this length just to clean some blurry lines up. Most of us would barely bat an eye lid if they gave the lion an actual face if they're really canvassing support for that small a change it's no surprise we take an age doing owt, flip side is they're cautious when making a misstep which is good.
  4. Without opening the horror show that is the chronicle website. Isn’t this article based off what Simon Jordan said on talksport afew weeks back and the chronic plucking sunderlands name out of thin air?
  5. SteV

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

True. I think Edwards (or one of the other local journos) had mentioned him previously, but it was a Spanish (or Swedish) guy who first said “it’s on”.
  6. I really like Gittens, he's tall, has explosive pace and loads of potential. He's more technical than Mbuemo but I'd say he's more of a risk coming from the Bundesliga. I trust in Eddie whichever way we go.
  7. Actually really looking forward to the obscene amount of Brazil Scout videos I'll watch this summer.
  8. again, if the club want to simply clean it up - ie: take the current crest and remove the blury details and additonal lines and even it up like that lad who did it on instagram that has been posted on the previous pages - perfect.
  9. I don’t even know what the other benefits are.
  10. Prior to the window "slamming open", can we all sort the most prominent journos into reliability tiers? For example: Tier 1 (Take it as gospel): Ornstien Tier 2 (Rarely misses): Romano Tier 3 (Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit): Hope, Waugh Tier 4 (Don't get your hopes up): Edwards Tier 5 (Burnsie): Burnsie Tier 6 (WUM, still more reliable than Burnsie): Frank Chippa
  11. Whoever has put the Panda pop on the tables = Bravo
  12. Yep. I'm sure all these multi-million or billion pound clubs don't have armies of accountants and analysts that look into this kind of thing. But they just wait for Howe to say we're free from a bit of PSR bother now, so that they can add another £10m on the fee. If he'd kept his mouth shut. We would have got some right bargains. Howe out.
  13. The oldest of our previous badges was just seven years old, so I doubt there'd have been a big fuss. We've had the current one for 37 years. (city crest obvs older but had only been on our shirt for seven years) There's also more reason to be protective of such things now than in the 70s-80s I believe, due to the complete transformation of english football's role in the world.
  14. I'm sure it was a small local paper that broke the Isak transfer. Before any of the big boys or tap in merchants got hold of the story.
  15. Am I right in thinking no one was too fussed when they changed the badge in the past, same with moving the stadium to Leazes Park in the 90's ( apart from environmentalists)? Is it people were not bothered or rather that the Internet didn't exist? Any one remember articles in fanzines criticising the club?
  16. S*n says Wilson to Leeds on a free
  17. Fak

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Buy him and not play him just to piss them off.
  18. Arsenal fans have been thirsting over Garcia for a while.
  19. 4. They're all there. It's the longest-lived one. The first three were pretty brief. (1969-76, 1976-83, 1983-88, 1988-) https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/updating-our-crest-together
