To the actual game, think Eddie got it massively wrong with the formation and personnel. If Trippier could only do limited minutes, I'd have gone for him from the start, with our usual 4-3-3. Willock starting LCM, while not ideal, would then allow Barnes and Tino to continue their partnership. Gordon coming on as a sub later on for Barnes/Murphy. Course, if things had gone the other way there would be no questions, but think the messy formation changes and personnel shuffles mid game just destroyed any semblance of a game plan we may have had. Not Eddie's finest hour but fuck it. He's not perfect but he's damn close. Trophy and CL ain't half bad.

I think if you factor in goals to games ratio and don't blame him for being unlucky with injuries, he's been a great signing overall, I'm sure we will all wonder what could have been without the injuries, but he really was a top striker at his best.
