So basically you want a different manager, system and style of play. Eddie Howe is signing Eddie Howe players that he has success with, and people are surprised and annoyed by it. You want Chelsea's signings that will arrive at their club to pass the ball side to side endlessly under Maresca. Have you seen how unproductive their wingers have been playing that way? You want Eddie Howe to succeed, but with players he's not as keen on. How?
-
A one who we can afford? Fee and wages? Who has proven themselves to a certain level? I'm not trying to be clever, but I've never heard anyone come up with any names.
-
This is basically a contradiction imo.
-
Big, as in someone over 30/40m, without.
-
Not on here, no. But I laugh now about the ESPN clowns -- Burley in particular -- who were roundly dismissive.
-
The RW position was always going to be costly.
-
Pros PL proven Can play more than one position Takes a good set piece Ludicrously fast Doesn’t get injured much Good pro Cons Relatively expensive Bit of a clean shirt Possible soft cunt Nee tricks
-
People keep saying similar but never come up with names. I'm sure we'd have signed Reijnders but funny enough a club with much more clout signed him first.
-
Gordon, Barnes, Livramento, Hall, Tonali have all at some point been criticised as being a waste of money when we have PSR limitations. Every single one of them has been a success and would be sold for the same or more now.
-
I’d like a winger who can beat fullbacks with skill. Or a winger who is more of a forward. They exist.
-
I'm saying the Premier League represents the best talent pool out of anywhere. Maybe I shouldn't have said 'best', because some of the European leagues still harbor immense talent. The likes of PSG and Real Madrid will still have some of the very best on their books. Ultimately what I'm saying is, I bet there's not many wingers on the continent who are realistically attainable who are as good as Elanga. I mean Scott McTominay just owned Serie A ffs.
-
£50m is a Tonali or Reijnders type on the continent. We can get an Elanga-like player for half that price shopping away from the PL premium.
-
You are smart enough not believe in "reported budgets" man. Our journalists don't even understand how PSR works. 4 wingers who do the same thing is am odd criticism to label at 4 good wingers. What exactly were you after? It's been explained why we need physically capable players. Yes we'd all love more technical players but try and find one, it's not so easy?
-
Backup option is Glen Little apparently.
-
I’d say 4 key signings, Elanga being one of them. At the very least after that we need a CB and some quality backup for Isak. I think we can make do with Pope for another season. We also need CM but agree that will happen if Willock or Longstaff go.
-
Not a single fan on here thought we were overpaying on isak.
-
Was going through my match worn shirt folders and found a photo a 125th anniversary season prototype. The badge there were going to use was very interesting Sadly they went with the much simpler
-
Heard the same when we bought Isak and Gordon.
-
Is that with a big sale or without one ?
-
Depends what you mean by adequate? If you mean can we sign a CB after that, then yes. If you mean more than that, then it's likely we will need to sell but we can sell, Longstaff/Willock for starters.
-
Yep, so 4 wingers who do the same thing. What I said. so in those games where it’s just not working, we can bring a different player on to try the same thing. using half our reported budget.
-
Absolutely not. Especially when I don’t see Elanga strengthening us considerably.
-
Irrationally annoyed we don't have more left footed players.
