  1. Past hour
  2. Newcastle and Burnley are still far apart in their valuation of James Trafford, with the Magpies having had an initial bid worth £25m for the 22-year-old England Under-21s goalkeeper turned down. (Sky Sports)
  3. Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez for £45m, though the 32-year-old Argentina goalkeeper is believed to prefer a move to Manchester United. (Mirror) So maybe Chelsea will let us have Trafford but then again......
  4. That's not the job of many of today's journalists (let's differentiate by calling his ilk journos) who's job is maintain engagement not enlighten.
  5. Mazzy

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I'm convinced people only want Xavi Simons because he's got a cool name.
  6. Here comes Hope: "Word from Edwards that the deal is done, followed by a vague message about not getting stressed. The club and Howe need to provide some clarity to this chaos."
  7. Disco

    Tino Livramento

    Loves silver wear this lad.
  8. He already wrote that it's pretty much done though, so why does he feel the need to write that? You may be right though. Funny, you'd think journalists should be able to communicate clearly
  9. It's not even July, man. Stop pissing your already stained pants
  10. SAK

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Technically we’ve signed two, Cordero (1st July) and Vakhtang Salia (Joins end of August).
  11. I don't think he's of the level of someone like Bruno or Isak who will lift the team to another level in their position. I think he's very good, but he's not the sort of signing that would be devastating to miss out on. This is also assuming that we have a list of similarly good players we can move onto if he doesn't sign
  12. The calendar is ludicrous, that is beyond doubt. But saying the Club World Cup is "the worst idea ever implemented" is just throwing the baby out with the bathwater. It's a global game; there should be room for it. There does need to be effective lobbying against this tournament - there's so much to criticise. But it should be in the interests of delivering a good version; one which isn't motivated by geopolitics, revenues and vanity. What Klopp is saying is just reductive. Pointless too; it's here now, and it'll almost certainly expand. The calendar absolutely needs review. But let's start by looking at the dead rubbers, like international friendlies and tournament qualification; let's maybe fuck off bloating the UEFA competitions; let's explore the domestic cups (could the League Cup be in alternate years, for instance?); let's consider more player regulation - e.g. maximum appearances per season. A CWC for the right reasons really shouldn't be beyond the comprehension of the game's leaders. But here we are. We've got odious, narcissistic self-serving cunts pulling the strings, so it's impossible. (But enough about Klopp, wahey!)
  13. Tbf that's a tremendous achievement by the u21 mob and Carsley
  14. I don't mind the longer stoppage times, especially now that they've been reigned in a bit. But the 5 subs is so fucking shite, I really can't stand it.
  15. I would take that as him saying it’s done, don’t get stressed?
  16. The state of Connor Coady.
  17. We seemingly operate at a snails pace, which is a worry in my opinion.
  18. Fuckin soft shites, it's not like there carrying umbrellas, only 5 mins left
  19. Lightning stopped play in the Chelsea game
  20. Which I think is why he did the gesture which looked like flicking the V but wasn’t.
  21. Canny disrespectful taking your medal of before it's even over your napper. 😂
  22. Apart from Trafford - another example of how painfully slow we conduct business - probably next week tbh. Individually, missing out on Joao Pedro (overpriced, overrated, bit of a dick) and Guehi (we can do better) is absolutely fine. But when you combine it with Delap and Mbeumo, there's definitely a worrying pattern about the way we chase players, inevitably getting gazumped. Hey, maybe this time they've planned properly and there's an actual Plan B/C/D in the pipeline. Really hope so But the last couple of years have me cynical about that.
  23. Fucking hell, Sunderland will give this boring Chelsea team a game
  24. Not even necessarily pettiness, just fun between like minded.
  25. That was the first game I've watched in this tournament and I was very impressed by the standard of play. I've made the point here before that I think players are maturing earlier, and that was the thought that struck me again tonight. It was a close game against tough opponents but the lads stuck to their task well.
