Right now there not anyone who has a clue about our economy, but yes 200m is unrealistic.
  3. Why is there no one there?
  4. No idea what the budget is. Have a whole year to raise funds if necessary. Most important thing is a good CL campaign and getting back into the CL.
  5. I'd be buzzing like a crack whore with that.

I guess so. Might be 300m.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Pedro, Elanga and Guehi although it may seem far to straightforward it would represent an incredible window. Very clean, big upgrades and a massive addition of depth. Pedro alone changes our side.

For all we know 200m might be our budget. Even selling Longstaff will help us fund more.

    João Pedro

Sounds fair. How would you raise the CB funds?
  10. If we sign JP we don’t neee to spend significant money on CM cover as we can play 2 rather than 3 in midfield. Could get proper budget CM cover like a Doucoure who would essentially be 6th choice. we just need a CB imo.

Give me Madueke at RW and Shola in charge of every aspect of our loan dealings

Would you rather Pedo and Elanga or Mitchell and Gillespie?

If we end up signing Pedro and Elanga for around 120m - how do we then buy a RCB, GK and CM cover? Genuine question. I guess we can fuck off the GK and continue with Pope. Sell Gordon to fund a RCB and CM cover? You'd also have to buy a Gordon replacement.
  14. They are perfectly entitled to spend their money on their own league rather than European teams tbh, whether it will be a success or not is not really for us to worry about. I just wish they would stop chucking money at PL players which seems to be benefitting all our rivals far more than us.

For me Joao Pedro would be a great link between Tonali/Bruno and Isak. He’s a good technical ball carrier and would mean we don’t have to always smash it forward for Isak and Gordon to run onto. It would help us keep our shape better and aid Isak/ take some burden off of him. Brighton at their best are one of the most technical pl teams there are atm. JP is part of that. You’ve seen them against us, they tear us to shreds at times.

👍 And probably difficult to make a fully informed opinion until we know what we’ve got when the window shuts.

    João Pedro

You certainly wouldn't fancy coming up against it.

    I'm in the same minority
  19. It's not apathy, but is the price. He is not a top4 level player and will cost us a fortune.
  20. Absolutely baffling! Of course he's going to have a great game against these lot and justify his selection. I just don't get it.
  21. Gordon on this piece with his bezzy mate, Curtis Jones.

Hopefully you're right. That's the only thing that concerns me, that we've been here before with a stretched squad, huge gap in quality between first XI and the backups and it was only Howe's ability to extract the absolute maximum from the squad that saw us finish as high as 7th. To some this is "complaining" but it's only offering an opinion - that if we go big on one or two marquee signings from the PL, our squad will be too light. Maybe that won't be the case. Maybe we'll actually be able to spend enough to add the four or five players I think we need. Maybe we won't spend £60m on Pedro or £50m on Guehi or whatever. All just opinions.

    Anthony Elanga

Kvara was only going to one place so sometimes the fee doesn’t tell the whole story. He’s probably worth 100m+ tbh but if he’s only going to pick one team…. I thought it was that number too and yes winter.
