It's also one thing to find a replacement - it's another to attract them to the club. And the pool isn't very big.

I don't think any amount of money is worth it, even with PSR in mind. I think a lot of people are undervaluing him (even at £200m), strikers like him don't really exist. If he stays fit, he will score 20+ goals in the PL, 35+ overall. The way I see it, is where do we find those goals if we sell him? We need to sign a high end striker at very least, and even with money in the bank - who do we buy? Not fussed about Osimhen, Ekitike, etc. Undoubtedly there will be some unearthed gems out there, but why risk it when we have the gem already? Anyways, I would say no regardless of cost unless he has downed tools and spat the dummy - then cash in.

I’ve seen quite many questioning the signing of Wirtz. Or people saying he has never impressed them and that they can very well see him being a big flop. You can never say never in football or take anything for granted. But judging by what I’ve seen I struggle to see him being anything but a massive success for years to come. It might take him a bit of time to settle before he hits the ground running. Despite the price I can see him being a bargain when you consider how much is being spent on some players.

Depends when it was his intention to leave really. -
It’s an amazing idea but the purity of principle has been completely hijacked by avaricious shits like Infantino and his cronies and grim cunts like Perez and Laporta. Hence Inter Miami’s completely bent inclusion.

They must be too busy

We have money now apparently and seem to be still struggling to spend it

The appointment of the CEO is done by the board of directors.
-
Whose job is it even? As they don't seem to know
-
To be frank, the amount of time taken to find Eales replacement had been borderline negligent.

Exactly this. I could pass any number of board members in the street and not notice. They just never have any presence about them. Even the likes of Llambias and (shudder) Charnley were at least visible and communicative. -
Vile is harsh but its pretty grim. Ive had to go there twice this year and there's an air of desperation about the place. The fucking pubs are all stuck in the 90s, everywhere seemed to have karaoke on fffs, the one place which had live music on had a cover band doing Oasis and Pulp. The mackems seem to think the place is in the midst of a renaissance when in reality there's the level of redevelopment going on every town was doing 25 years ago. That's how far behind they are. Also, the train station still stinks of piss. It really is a fucking real-time Beamish.

Don’t be silly, what do you think happens when the footballing worlds knows we have £200m in the bank. Think past the current NUFC tax.
-
Just imagine the PSR headroom we'd have if we sold Isak, Bruno and Tonali. The fanbase and club could be totally galvanized by the speculative PSR calculations that would be flying about.
-
Not for me - he is just too important

Whilst those facts are true, the feelings he talks about have some merit. Stavely and Mehdrad leaving has left a vacuum at boardroom level communication and it has been difficult for Eales to fill that void given his pending departure. You then add on the Ashworth and Mitchell issues, combined with the pantomime of last summer's transfer window, and things do 'feel' off. As an institutional investor, PIF understandably is distanced from the day to day, but it is on them to fill that void and I think it's fair to say that the leadership and vision of the club does not 'feel' as inspiring since Stavely's departure, despite out best season in decades. -
I maybe, but it's business and unfortunately PSR seems to have priority on seemingly everything.

Champions league and higher ceiling pull.

You’re a strange person

Not new but first time I have seen it - great watch. Can see the mutual respect of two greats of the game.
-
If offered £200m for him.snap the bidders hands off
-
We do accept it might be the case, but the difference is we're prepared to wait to actually see what happens. Rather than moan about things throughout the window in anticipation of things going badly. I'm really not sure what the benefit of that is.

Believe the challenge comes when trying to sign proven premier league players for under 20million, who you have scouted from the age of 5 and who tend to play left wing (usually)....joking. We'll we ok, I think, wont we?
