If he’s not good enough to be Joelinton level-ish over 25 games next season - it’s better he’s sold for someone who is. That could be the difference between CL and Conference league. But selling Miley now for a low fee when he has so much potential makes little sense, we aren't going to use that money to sigh s Sandro who's willing to warm the bench, and you can't keep kicking the amortisation can either it adds up a lot and squad cost will be crushing if you underperform for a year and your relying on European football to bridge the gap. No disrespect but I'm sure you were hoping Minteh would have a buyback which was never going to be the case.

You have to trade. Selling Miley for £20m would pay for Tonali for a single season. Tonali was the difference between CL and no European football. That’s £80m in revenue. £20m pays for Tino and Hall for a single season. The impact of that level of player is the difference between on pitch success and failure which impacts revenue. At some point we may have to sell Tonali, Hall or Tino themselves too.

He can and does contribute though? Also his salary is a lot less than a replacement. Wed also he outsourcing his development to a third party without any input or control. I get we all twerk for signings and have PTSD about buying players but I don't think selling Miley to replace him makes any sense. Are fourth and 5th choice central midfielders that much better and cheaper?
