The pettiness I felt through February and March when he didn't score for them was off the scale. To this day I'm glad he was a massive flop at Liverpool, I was so fucking deflated seeing the images of him on SSN signing for Liverpool. We saw some really good strikers in the years to come which somewhat softened the blow.
-
Now you mention it, he has a bit of Dixie McNeil about him š
-
Palace have agreed terms with Diomande, negotiating a fee with Sporting now.
-
Made something of a legend of himself over there by all means. Glad to see it. Hope he doesn't join fucking Wrexham or something.

These are still living in 2012-2016. I donāt think they realise the scale of the change from us nor the PL. itās going to be delightful trust me
-
Think heās been overrated here. He looked a fish out of water in the PL imo. Not saying he wonāt make it or be useful but Eddie absolutely right to use him as he has

One of Gatesheadās finest. Loved Carroll when he was with us. Kind of centre forward I would have liked to beāsimilar physical attributes (and home town) but I couldnāt head the ball for toffee! despite my first Newcastle hero being (oddly perhapsā¦) Alan Gowling. I wonder where Carroll sits in list of best ever players from Gateshead? Probably a short list at the very top level, but others that spring to mind, Gascoigne, Waddle, Hunter, Stone, Hutchinson.
-
@JonBez comesock any chance of a thread (or long post) about your experiences of those times? Kind of an AMA vibe? Would be amazing to get a behind the scenes take on our best ever era
-
Yes, no football during winter would be complete shit.
-
Some absolute belters there mind!
-
Did they appear in Cheers?
-
That Conrad Harder is worth a pickup. An Aldi Haaland.
-
They're toying with bringing back the totty cam in this competition. We are so back.
-
Igor Jesus and some other fella I canāt remember are off to Forest allegedly. Seems like theyāre really tapping into the Brasilero. Interested to see how he gets on. Canāt help that think that the tournament is going to distort South American competitively further given the prize money. Weāve already seen more and more clubs from Brazil going deep in the Libertadores and Sudamericana as they have the financial advantage whereas back in the it was a little bit more of a lottery whoād make the final stages.

We're not PSG yet, we can't turn generational into several world class pieces on presumably massive wages. We'd turn a generational talent into powder we keep dry trying to avoid point deductions while our targets increase the distance between us and them. We can only close that gap by winning, and this guy will win us things.
-
These conquered motherfuckers can't throw stones anymore. We get more of their games than they do.
-
Shit fake tournament and a shit idea tbh, it's just unworkable even if every federation were on the same page and schedule. Instead we're going to run some of the most talented players in the world into the ground so a few thousand people can watch them run around NFL stadiums during Midwestern summers.

NĆ£o tem problema! EstevĆ£o is now a Chelsea player I believe, Veiga is 30 and I donāt think De Arrescaetaās that young. Some good players in Brasil donāt adapt well to Europe and those that do tend to be in Spain. Look at Gerson - plays really well for Flamengo but only lasted a season at (was it?) Olympiakos. There are some exceptions thankfully - big Joe, Bruno and, hopefully playing for us soon: JoĆ£o Pedro!!

100%. Missing Luton town Away the season before last and Liverpool home this past one. Iām sure a few more too. His disallowed goals are filth. Utter disgusting filth. Man United away and Arsenal in the cup are absolutley disrespectful hacks at goal like. Bold statement but heās my favorite player weāve had since Shearer. And heās quite close to passing him.
-
You donāt sell him ever. You also donāt say āinvolve him in the offenseā on a footy forum youāve been apart of since David Rozenhal was a player for us. cmon Michael! Youāre better than this!
-
favor to their old sporting director? Probably some kind of clause or something of the like. This deal happened far too smoothly.
-
CONAN! WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE? TO STRENGTHEN YOUR ENEMIES, TO SELL YOUR BEST PLAYERS, TO HEAR THE LAMENTATIONS OF YOUR FANBASE YES ... THIS IS GOOD ... THIS IS GOOD
-
How is he so cheap? 40Ā£million seems low for a player of his ability. Release clause?

I honestly don't agree with "all" the best, we have talents like Estevão, Arrascaeta, Igor Jesus, and even Raphael Veiga that would start for most prem teams, also, Palmeiras right now is a more expensive team than Porto for example and they don't come close to Flamengo in money, Argentinians like Boca and River will always be tough on "Catimba" and grit alone, but the top BR teams would contend for Europe in most of the top 5 leagues. BTW, Fluminense is a joke in Brazil, they had a lucky spell under Diniz, they also are famous for being relegated on the pitch but not on the league, Botafogo is more of a joke than Tottenham/Arsenal in Brazil in the sense that they just choke everytime since garrincha, they broke that spell last year EDIT: About the calendar, I would LOVE for FIFA to unify it, there has been discussion in making seasons in Brasil like the european ones for at least over a decade EDIT: I'm a few pints in, sorry for the bad grammar, not my first language
