Whatever the aim, you can only get there so quickly. If we hadn’t signed these players that people are so sure will want to leave, we wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of the league. We need more of those players that are ‘too good’ to stay here, surely? Otherwise how can we ever bridge the gap. If every good player is allowed to leave in the meantime, we’ll never progress. That’s the Brighton model.
