Even if they tripled the fee we paid for him, still wouldn’t come close to what we’d need to spend to find someone remotely as good. He won’t be in a rush to go anywhere, he’s playing in a team that creates for him and we can still do better. Add a better right sided forward and we’re in good shape. I’d keep Murphy but Almiron can go at this stage, purple patch aside he’s largely ineffective.
  4. I think best realistic case scenario summer is an outlay of c£150m, with us recouping £40m/£50m through a few sales. Still think we’re looking at something along the lines of: Marmalade-vili, Tosin, Kelly, RW (MGW), young RW (Rowe?) Striker.
  5. Whilst I do agree with you, I can see why the fees paid for Hall and Livramento would have people think they are/should be closer to the first team than what is described. Minteh is probably a better example along with the South Americans we are linked to every window.
  6. Aye not a massive difference really. I just think when it comes to young players we will be looking for more than two but slightly cheaper. Then maybe add an extra purple instead on top of what we could afford otherwise. Perhaps 2 transformational players and more youngsters in the mould of Cozier-Duberry just to name one link.
  7. I think last summer's business fits that model though. Tonali and Barnes (ready-made quality) = ~£90-100m / Tino and Hall (cheaper with high potential) = ~£50-60m.

This! Only an absolutely obscene amount of money would tempt us to sell. 130-150m. Expensive? Yes. Pay or find someone else.
  9. Doesn’t matter because he’ll be here for next season.

A mate just told me he's Arsenal's top target for the off season. Say it isn't so!!!
  11. The way I read that Waugh thing is that we are probably more likely to add more than one like Tonali, Isak, Bruno or that kind of quality for example, and then go for cheaper young players that have a lot of potential. Instead of as ready/expensive as Tino and Hall. Might be only me but I thought it was quite obvious what he meant. I could be wrong.
  12. Don't think we had enough young players on the fringe who stayed at the club, tbh. Other than Miley, none of them were trusted for more than a cameo even when we were on the bones of our arse.
  13. *04/05 (Kluivert, blue away kit, etc)
  14. Saw him in Newcastle last weekend and noticed how slim he's become. Probably all those marathons and stuff, but man was half the size he used to be. Hopefully he's alright!
  15. Isn't that exactly what we did last year?
  16. 2003/04 They filmed some on-pitch scenes at the final whistle of that Liverpool game. They replicated Robert's goal because they spliced together the match footage.
  17. Sounds awesome. Really suprised we didnt do that last year.
  18. That's an interesting insight from Waugh. I do hope we haven't ruled out signing players who are shit and old, however.
  19. I think I speak for everyone when I say this is the best way forward
  20. Exactly what I would like to see.
  21. If you ever needed proof that we live in the matrix, go watch the documentary Goal. Cant remember which season it follows, and who scored theirs first, but Santiago Munez scores a freekick against Liverpool, that is pretty much a carbon copy of the exact freekick Robert also scored against Liverpool.
