  1. Well, we are more important to him than he is to us. If he leaves there is only one way and that's down.
  2. Kirby is hardly far, the only reason it's outside Liverpool is because of the ridiculously old city boundaries. Old Trafford isn't in Manchester remember.
  3. They are getting to the point where all International football will need to be played post season in the summertime. There is just too much going against it to play during the league season. Players not giving their all. Managers not being helpful. Supporters not getting behind the team. People see Internationals now simply as a detraction to the domestic game, it's a dying game.
  4. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=44408.325 half way down.
  5. Speaking of Spurs, some of these photoshops of Robinson are great. 6. Been a while since we played a league cup game in August.
  7. I've never heard of a flick been described as world class before.
  8. Owen deserves to be run over for that.
  9. Emre always sits deep, way to deep. You never see him playing off the front two. Viana did a similar thing when he played, they sit deep to try and dictate the play. Neither are remotely holding midfielders though. It just creates a huge gap behind the the front players.
  10. So anybody actually think Faye will be a first teamer? Geremi, Butt, Barton and Emre are all midfielders who sit deep. Taylor, Rozenhal, and Cacapa in defense.
  11. It's a moderately proud moment for the club, although it really shows how little quality cover their is for England upfront. Owen and Smith were the two upfront against Brazil and both were gash.
  12. Sparks

    Geremi

Looked like he had a couple of weights stuck on the back of his legs all game.
  13. Sounds like Shay, tbh. It's was worse than Shay, his kicking can be bad as in wasteful, Harper's kicking is a defensive liability.
  14. Couple of very good saves, kicking was pretty terrible though.
  15. from the telegraph report http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2007/08/19/sfgnew119.xml Butt's brilliance overshadowed as Owen returns "One man truly catching every eye was Newcastle's Nicky Butt who was giving a master-class of the holding midfielder's role. He was always available, calling for the ball, using it impeccably with accurate delivery and scuttling back with tackles and interceptions whenever Villa were in possession. He was at the level of form that him one of Sir Alex Ferguson's favourite sons at Manchester United. He was man of the match by a distance."
  16. Geremi and Smith were both sub standard today. Geremi looked like he had lead in his boots and Smith ran round like a headless chicken, neither did anything with the ball. Butt didn't distribute the ball well or cover the midfield, it was a return to old gloomy times for him today.
  17. So much for the fitness levels to be improved, a week off and we looked shot after 70 minutes.
  18. Way to early for this sort of thread. Barton is hardly a creative force, he is an all action hardworking midfielder.
  19. This is going to be painful if we continue play 4-3-3 at home. Just no creativity and nothing from the wings other than Milner. Can't see the justification for playing Smith and Butt in midfield at home, and bringing Barton in is not going to improve things.
  20. Short on midfield options there.
  21. top scorer in the Prem, Sib.
  22. Spurs winning and Jenas scoring. Bad day.
