A legend in the 'not really a legend' sense then? Legend in the Sibierski sense I reckon. So, not really a legend then? Maybe in the Robin Hood sense? So what you're saying is he robs from the rich? Aka our directors by getting paid vast amounts for not being a world beater, and steals from the poor? Aka the fans by us paying our money to see him not do it all of the time. Nah, I've seen him riding around Walkergate late at night on a horse, wearing a green cape and shooting charvas with his bow and arrow! Considering his marksmanship Charvas are pretty save then. Though he will kill a hand full with some lucky shots and get hailed as the saviour of British society.
  3. Wullie would hate him, he wouldn't know why but there would be something about him he just doesn't like. He's a real twat (not Wullie), which probably would be of help.
  4. Fantastic talent. Great season so far after he was already brilliant last season. Scored 15 goals in 19 games in the league, 3 in 4 in the CL and 6 in three in the cup. He'll move to a big club soon, if not already in the summer (depending on the European Cup), he will most likely in the season after as his manager already admitted last weekend. With loads of really big clubs linked with him I can't see him being interested in Newcastle who would be even a step down from his current club at the moment.

They do have. Bayerns general director Hoeneß at a go at the fans at the last AGM (go to youtube and search for 'Hoeness' + 'Wutrede') who were complaining about the lack of atmosphere and too many suits in their new stadium. It really isn't all as good here as some people want to believe.

what would premiership crowds be like if it was £10 to get in. it's far cheaper in germany to go to football and good on them for having it that way Agreed, but thats also the reason it doesnt have the talent of the premiership! Also, few premier league clubs can hold 50,000. Bring back standing and have a world cup here. and it might happen. I always use the size of the stadiums as an argument that average attendances in England would be much higher if some of the stadiums were bigger. But here in Germany attendances have been very high and increasing since the 90s. Safe standing surely does play a part in it, as do the much more affordable ticket prices. The whole football culture in Germany is much more geared towards the fan. The fan is generally made to feel part of the club and therefore closer to it. In the UK you're likely to be taken for a mug who subscribes to a corporate brand owned by some foreign investment company. In Germany it's still about beer, bratwurst and atmosphere. Our league is richer and more hyped than theirs and therefore attracts more "galacticos". Their football is equally exciting, better officiated and all in all a better day out at a fraction of the price imo. The grass is always greener somewhere else. Tbh I do find the atmosphere here in most Jorman stadiums rather dreary. Fake atmosphere created by "Ultras" who are all singing the same songs (most favourably You'll never walk alone). Goal jingles and annoying music blasted at you in full volume at every possible opportunity and stupid entertainment from PA guys. The football is a lot worse and less exciting as it is much slower with far more breaks because the officiating isn't better at all. I'd willingly pay a few quid more to get rid of all this stuff. You obviously see a lot more of it than I do, but in my limited experience the beer is better, the atmosphere is better and the fans seem closer to their clubs in terms of belonging to them. I stick by the officiating being better, but perhaps thats because I think the standard in England is abysmal. Maybe the pace of our game is the reason for that. I don't disagree about the beer. ;-)

What a load of nonsense. But yeah, we should just scrap the manager position and simply go by what the "majority" want. Maybe we can run a "Substitution Text Vote"? Where did I say we should scrap managers? The booing is wrong of course it is and I have never said anything different, the traveling fans at Brum were not happy Oba went off and let KK know then too. Its how football is going, Fergie could get grief from Man ure fans if he took Ronaldo off. We pay our money and have a right to an opinion as any fan from any club does, it may have been a shock to KK because its not something he he has ever had from Toon fans. There was no direct abuse, no chants of "you don't know what your doing" or anything like that, more os being made of ithis than is needed.. We did not find ourselves 1-0 up to many times under Sam but he got grief for taking Oba off and putting Owen on or the other way around, even in a 0-0. I 100% do not agree with fans booing, managers decisions or booing of players but leys not made a mountian out of a molehill with this because in the great scheme of the things it meant nothing. Of course it does mean something. The moronic behaviour of some "supporters" means that they rather are happy to intimidate the own players and manager than create a hostile atmosphere for the opposition. It's a spoilt brat attitude and nothing else. If things are not going the way they want them to then they start booing. Because they bought this right with the ticket. You said above that you'll wait to see if Keegan now has the balls to take off Martins again in future (I hope he does). Is this how you define yourself as a "fan"? Putting your own opinions over the support for the team? It's the manager's responsibility to make decisions and not anyone else's.

It's just utter moronic tbh. As is the new booing culture in general. Fine if you don't agree with a manager's decision, but creating a negative atmosphere when you are 1-0 up and things are going well for the team just because the manager took away some people's lovetoy is simply pathetic.

  14. Bolton are already relegated considering their remaining fixtures iyam.
  15. My God! Couldn't think of a worse way to spend £30m tbh. Rather buy Naldo, Diego & Huntelaar. And you could get them for that kind of cash. You really couldn't. Diego and Huntelaar would cost about £35 - £40m alone! £14m Huntelaar £7m Naldo £11m Diego These are the latest price banded about, its what i will go with unless you got some figures to look at. There is no way you could get Naldo and Diego for 7m and 11m. The price for Naldo seems alright, I very much doubt he would be interested though. The Diego price and talk is as realistic as the pope doing the Easter blessings in a toon top because of the second coming of the Geordie messiah. I;m led to believe Diego's contract (unless changed since the start of last summer) had something to do with the fee, but cannot find where i read about it. He signed a new contract last autumn. But there was nothing known about a release clause in his old contract.

  17. Can you give me the lotto number as well? Your crystal ball gazing seems to be quite good... What I find funny is that over a long time the media and other fans are labelling Newcastle fans as fickle and too demanding. Then a manager comes people actually trust in and now it's other people branding him right from the start or at least after a couple of weeks already as failure and wrong appointment. Nobody knows if it's going to work out (again). But there wouldn't have been any guarantees with other managers as well.
  18. Jesus Real Madrid fans are worse the Newcastle's, thought he was doing a good job with them. It's not the Real fans though, rather the press. Good for Mancini that he still has his flat in Newcastle, eh...
  19. Aye all because Peter was too impatient to wait for you to come online and translate it for him... It wouldn't have been as funny if not for the text being pure gibberish and people still falling for it. The fake site was s*** too Didnt you even come into the thread and say 'it looks dodgy' and you were still ignored? Thats when i decided to get Nils to translate it at work. "Vy are you translating football articles into Swiss-german?' "erm, well, i'm not, you see theres this website..." I said it here and in various pms. I still don't know why people kept asking me if they did not (want to) believe me anyway. The best thing was that people didn't notice that even the names were translated. Frederick Schäferhund (Shepherd) and Alan Schermaschine (Shearer). Even the name of one of the blokes was translated to Schutze and they didn't get it. It was just brilliant. http://loerrach-zeitung.de/artikelhitz.html
  20. A free kick from the half way line for my home team to win 4-3 against one of our regional rivals with only few minutes to play and after going behind three times. Everyone went totally nuts. http://www.ksvhessenkassel.de/Saison/Saison2003/Spielbericht2003/Spielbericht24.htm

  22. Reading the babelfished German version of the "newspaper article" always cheers me up...
  23. Keegan's talking about players comes directly from the Viv Tudor school of player motivation... "Oh, he is gaaawwgeous!" Not that I think this is a bad thing...
