  1. Really, as good as a player as I think his/can be, I though he looked like he had the heart the size of a pea at times last season when we were struggling.
  2. Not that we would have any clue who the club are scouting, it was widely reported we were interested when Hughton was here... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1303487/Newcastle-closing-4m-Holland-powerhouse-Leroy-Fer.html
  3. "Valenciennes officials reportedly travelled to London last night to speak to Fulham about the transfer of their 21-year-old defender Nicolas Isimat-Mirin. One of the most promising centre-backs in Ligue 1, he would be an exciting signing for the Cottagers - especially at a cut-price fee of just over £2m." I am surprised we are not in for him at this price. With Williamson not up to it and the chance the Colo will be off in the summer, I would have thought he would be one that we would be looking at.

    Loïc Remy

Francois Piraux ‏@F8Piraux OM President Vincent Labrune : "We have a agreement with Newcastle for the transfer of Rémy. Loïc can negotiate with them." (RMC) #NUFC
  5. PSG are playing in the French Cup on the 6th. I assume he is going to the game...
  6. Something to make us all feel better! Absolutely woeful squad.
  7. Was it not Pardew or Llambias that came out bleating about our strategy on how we have a target for a position then if we cant get them we have another option (and that they are not a Plan B) but another attainable target etc. Given we have basically admitted we want a right back, Pardew said at the talk in he wanted a goal scoring centre half and the fact we bid for De Jong/Carroll, to show that we want/need a RB, CB and Striker and so far have none of them is ridiculous. It really is a joke...
  8. Thought they'd hang on for Walcott... Wonder were he will end up... Liverpool, with Carroll back here.
  9. I still think we will get him or another full back. They will be wanting Simpson out the door with only 12 months to go on his contract, I think he will be off as soon as we get a replacement.
  10. 134 million pound of debt written off yet in the 3rd Division in Scotland where you play against part timers and they are signing the likes of Sandaza on a reported 5k a week, Ian Black on a reported on 7k. St Johnstone a club that is trying to run within its means couldn't afford to sign him and Hearts who are still owed £600,000 for Lee Wallace, who is still playing for "The" Rangers, couldn't afford to give Black another contract. I feel sorry for the fans in all of this but for the club to be able to just become a newco and write off all that debt, whilst also still wanting to claim rights to the trophies won by the oldco, is absolutely ridiculous.
  11. I think the Carroll transfer will be key to our summer. If we can sign him on loan for a minimal outlay this summer (2m fee being mentioned) I think this could free up the transfer budget to bring in a CB, RB, and DM (Debuchy, Douglas & Anita?). Given we have already brought in around 5 million (Best and Forster) and have offloaded Lovenkrands, Smith, Guthrie etcs wages + its still looks like Simpson could be offloaded for 3 or 4 million, it could leave us with a budget capable of vastly improving the squad. If however we cannot get Carroll and look at other options (Remy etc) it will take a massive chunk out of this summers budget and surely must have an impact on our overall spend.
  12. Might have had a trial but we've defs been linked to him plenty. Another Darnel Situ-ation by the looks of it. Been strongly rumoured to be heading to Juventus for the last few months. More experienced than Situ having played most of the season with RC Lens. Very highly rated, could be a good signing.
  13. Lee Ryder French sources at Le Mans say that Anthony Koura is the player who scored twice for #nufc reserves today in the 3-1 friendly win Hamilton
  14. With Caen having being relegated it may be Niangs team mate Lenny Nangis. Anyone have any pics? I sussed out that it was Doucoure from Lens last year from the image.
  15. alex thomson ‏@alextomo WARNING. Club chairman "Everyone in that room heard that Stewart Regan informed Charles Green that there's no way "Rangers" will be in D3 . alex thomson ‏@alextomo That's what really went on. Ignore any guff about "Rangers" definitely heading for D3. This fight has only just started.
  16. I hope they arent playing them on the day of a Newcastle home match. Trains will be a nightmare. Although regardless of what their supporters are saying Green does not appear to have any money and they badly need some players in, along with the crazy running costs of Ibrox. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up in a position where they cannot fulfill their fixtures...
  17. BBCBMcLauchlin 2:02pm via Twitter for iPhone BBC Scotland has learned vote taken will put Rangers Newco in div 3
  18. SPL statement "At today's General Meeting, SPL clubs today voted overwhelmingly to reject the application from Rangers newco to join the SPL."
  19. Nothing wrong with that. Didn't we reject a 30 million offer for Carroll not so long ago only to see them coming back with 5 million more? I have said earlier Twente are notoriously hard negotiators. If Dekka thought he could just go there and pick their best players up on the cheap he was well mistaken. Why not? We did with Tiote
  20. You have answered your own question.
  21. That latest Journal piece sounds like we are not going to try and sign a centre half. It would be madness if we didn't and also surprising given what Pardew has said over the last couple of months..
  22. Some nonsense about how he and a consortium sat with Green and told him to name a price (think he was talking nonsense tbh) was half expecting Gazza to turn up with his fishing rod tbh. Highlights included... Brown - "mah daughters hiv been effected by the emails and textes..." Fans shouting at each other "'SHUT RA FUCK UP!!" A fan shouting about Green "He couldnae even spell Rangers" Brown - "where do we go from here?" Rangers supporter - "in 'at fuckin' door" And the most bizarre analogy about asking someone if they were a homeowner or tenant by asking to see the title deeds of their 'Big Hoose' which ended with "Noo get tae!!!"
