Does anyone remember the beambacks from about 95-97ish? I remember being at the Odeon to watch a beamback of the HOME game with Coventry when Ferdinand scored for us, must of been the beginning of the 95-96 season iirc. It was absolutely packed!, plus there was that fit Ingrid bird from Metro radio pushing her tits in my face so I was more than happy. I remember watching the Coventry away game about 97ish when we hammered them something like 5-0 when Shearer scored a couple, Stephen Glass scored too and I think it was when Shay Given didnt realise Dion Dublin was behind him and threw the ball out infront to kick it upfield when Dublin sneaks out from behind Given to tap the ball in the goal! That beamback was in one of the suites in the Milburn and as i recall there was hardly nee fucker in there. Just me and me mates and a couple of others. I think they must have stopped the beambacks shortly after that.

When you consider how small the east stand is, its amazing how small the west stand looks!!

They're smoggies, and support Boro and Liverpool. Nah, i've been to see them at the Metro Radio and O2 and both times thay have mentioned coming from Newcastle and supporting the Toon. As far as I'm aware they all met at uni up here but none of them are from Newcastle. You only have to listen to their songs to know that their accent is Smoggie not Geordie. I think the band is based in Newcastle though.

Both teams have more Glory hunters than Man U and Liverpool. There is nowt worse than the bloke in your street who's grand fathers twice removed cousin was a Rangers/Celtic fan thats why he 'supports' them. Bringing the two teams is just stupid imo. There is no doubt that Sunderlands bid is being far better publicised and if the decision was taken purely on this factor then they would win. Hopefully it is not.

I have to say that the Sunderland bid seems to be getting far more publicity than our bid. They actually seem confident of getting it which is quite worrying. The Tyneside bid doesnt seem to want it as much and is just expecting us to get it cause we are Newcastle imo.
