Hate the phrase but this is the first 'must win' of the season
-
People are saying we played poorly, and it's true, we did play poorly but I think a lot are underestimating just how good Villa were at pressing us into mistakes and just essentially shutting us down. Playing poorly when in excellent form and meeting one of the best teams in the best division isn't a coincidence, they carved out chance after chance and stopped us from doing what poorer teams couldn't do. There's a decent chance that PSG go on and win the CL but even they lost at Villa just a few days before we did. Villa look the real deal unfortunately and they had they quality and freshness on the bench. No surprise that they clicked it up another gear as soon as the subs came on, their energy changed the game and they scored 2 quick ones to wrap it up and make it look easy
-
The pressure is definitely mounting on Forest to click back into gear. Not sure they'll be able to do it, they've been outperforming their stats for a while now, and good on them btw, but teams often regress to the mean and they're due a(nother) blip

One person is saying all the fucking time mate...

Not going to criticise Tindall at all for sticking with the same side, we've looked fucking sensational over the last few weeks and he's brought off players so they're not doing 90+ each game either. Winning the games has been the only thing that's mattered recently and to do that you pick your best players as often as you can, it's not like we've got great options off the bench, we've pretty much gone full strength from the off and won the vast majority. Easy to be hyper-critical after the event Today was just a shocker and we lost away to a very, very good team. It's still all in our hands

Callum Wilson: offered 'incentive-based' contract extension (Ornstein)
midds replied to Strawberry's topic in Football
The only possible reason for bringing him on before Osula is for his experience, nothing else. However, that becomes irrelevant when you take into account how slow he's become and completely detached from the game, he can't even get anywhere near the ball, what's the point? -
Looks for all the world like we're just nursing him through to the end of the season, bringing him off as soon as games are decided one way or the other. It's probably a lot more common at this stage of the season than we think and I don't think we've got much choice atm. Just need to rest him and wrap him up and send him out against Ipswich, hopefully we can do a number on them and we can sub him to keep him fresh. We lose him to injury the task of CL gets twice as difficult
-
PP now only have us as 1/8 to finish top 5 now. Absolutely no need for anyone to start shitting their pants
-
We've been done, it happens. It was always going to be a tough night and that's exactly how it's panned out, we had one option off the bench they had 5 or 6 and it showed. Shit night, move on and focus on Ipswich
-
I'd be looking at Murphy for Gordon soon. Either switch Barnes to the right or just like for like, just ask them different questions. Other than that I'm not sure there's a lot more we can do from the bench tbh
-
Ref is just guessing at this point. Fucking useless and zero consistency from minute to minute
-
Let's just take a point a piece here eh lads? Then we can aaaall go home, stay friends and everyone's happy
-
Predicting a hell of a battle in CM tonight. Our 3 vs their 2 with Asensio dropping in to find the spaces. More than winnable if we control that area but they've got genuine quality in the final third and lots of options of the bench
-
Kind of the same opinion, it's a glorious chance to sew it up today but it's a really difficult fixture. Hard to know how they'll react to going out of the CL but I think Emery will rotate a bit and it'll be a tough game regardless. I'd absolutely snap your hand off for a point but a loss isn't the end of the world either
-
Hoping Everton can summon up a bit of fight this afternoon knowing they've only got 3 more games left at Goodison. Go out on a bit of a high and send their fans home happy with one last big scalp etc
-
"We're better than this" Errrr, clearly fucking not lads
-
I just don't understand how they can willingly and obviously completely take their collective foot off the gas then expect to immediately turn it back on again as soon as the play-offs start. I can understand why they're tempted to do it but just assuming they can flick the switch back on against teams who've been running through walls just to get into the play-offs is dangerous and I think it'll backfire. Sure, they'll be rested, but they'll be up against teams in good form and with momentum Meh, it's their problem, not ours

I hate the world

The shithousing will be amazing in the next 15 minutes
-
So where is VAR in that incident then? Clear and obvious mistake made but no mention of it being looked at again and checked? Why does it only work in one direction?
-
Bullshit red, another undeserved lifeline for the talentless fucks

They've completely shit the bed here
