Got no problem with VR asking the ref to have another look at it, seen on here that opinions are split as to whether to give it or not. The ref should have the chance to have another look at it as it's a huge, 2 point decision. Also good on the ref for not caving and just automatically sharing the opinion of VAR. He thought it was good and I'd agree with him. It's how the whole process should work imo

Unfortunately that's nearly 7 hours of football since the last goal from open play, it's not just opinions any longer it's facts. Created the chances today but just couldn't finish it off, it's really really poor play from some players letting Howe down in front of goal. He needs to either find a solution or keep his fingers crossed that it clicks very soon as the fixtures suddenly look very daunting. They'd be difficult if we were playing well but when we just can't create/finish chances then he's not going to be in a good place in 6 weeks time. I worry for the bloke tbph

Firmly of the opinion that if you waste chance after chance after chance then you don't deserve a thing. It's not bad luck, it's not a jinx, it's really poor finishing and play. It's all about taking chances and we've been shocking in front of goal for quite a while now

Gut reaction is similar to the one I had when they gave it to Capello. Not saying he's shit, I just don't think it's a great fit.

Got to admit, that's majestic

The compulsory 5 second close up of that miserable fucker looking pissed off is normally accompanied by the commentator saying some shit like "Hmmmmm, I wonder what he makes of all this" or words to that effect. Nothing good can come from it, just cut the ties and let him go
-
Just hide the old fucker away in corporate while the match is on. He's done his bit for the prawn sandwiches, give him his brown envelope and pour him into a taxi at 3.10. Job done

The camera constantly panning towards Ferguson in the crowd as another shit performance from Man U was something that really used to wind me up. Really unfair on the current boss to have him literally looking down at him and his team anytime it went wrong. How on earth could any manager have followed him and had anywhere near the same level of success, his presence was just a continuous reminder of everything they had and everything they used to be.

That's pathetic in every sense of the word

That's ridiculous goalkeeping twice in a minute. He's got away with it twice but it's still 2 shocking bits of play from the prick

Don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that the entire league picks a side here which will mean that essentially nothing gets passed. It seems like 2 distinct groups of clubs have formed and with the voting rules as they are then it's not unrealistic to think that if one group of about 7/8 vs the other of 12/13 basically cancel each other out when it comes to passing new rules. Anything that either group doesn't like has enough votes to kill it. The whole thing could get very messy very quickly. You've got clubs acting as witnesses to defend City and the rest emailing and writing letters of objection in the same case. 14 clubs to pass anything seems a lot given the state of things, if 7 stick together then the whole thing looks utterly fucked

Can't pretend I know what I'm talking about here, I'll let more qualified people do that. But I'm honestly struggling to see how the rules brought in to specifically prevent us from investing being deemed 'unlawful' can be anything other than very, very significant? I could very well be missing something very obvious though. I'm 100% a layman here and relying on others

Extremely lenient from the ref that, Trashford should be off
-
Correct. Starting those 2 AND leaving Martinez, de Ligt and Lindelof on the bench is a bit baffling. But what the fuck do I know? Ten Hag is the expert here
-
It should have been enough, yeah but clearly it wasn't I also think we need to consider how the chances arrived tbh, the pen is a ridiculous piece of defending from Tarkowski, the Bruno shot came from a corner where it fell to him in loads of space and was unlucky. The only real time we opened them up through our own good football was the Gordon 1v1 imo. And all of that comes on the back of the Wimbledon game which also had a distinct lack of decent chances too. I'm just saying there's a legitimate issue with chance creation and/or conversion at the minute. We're not creating enough good chances and the few we do create aren't being converted. I'm not shitting myself about it but it's something that needs to be addressed
-
The Gordon chances were the big ones and he was poor for both of them in all honesty, the pen is weak and in the ideal spot for the keeper and the one on one should have been on target at the very least. The Bruno shot was unlucky and would have gone in 99/100. Other than that I didn't see much else that was close to being a clear chance really. I don't think it's any surprise that our goals from open play have dried up since we lost Isak, that's not a coincidence and him returning should help. A decent option on the bench wouldn't go amiss either
-
Whether we're talking about chance creation or chance conversion something's not clicking. We've not scored from open play for over five hours now, Barnes' (eventual) consolation at Fulham being the last.
-
Suns it up for me. Loads of possession, virtually nothing coming back the other way but still can't score. Best chance was obviously via a penalty yet again, just like Wimbeldon, just like City. We're not creating enough in the final third Wasn't a disaster today but it is 2 points dropped away from home and the same flaws are being shown up regularly now. We need to find a way to put dross like this away, Isak coming back will obviously help but we've struggled when he's led the line too. It's a structural thing and it's fixable but Howe needs to come up with something
-
That's absolute pigshit from Gordon. To not even work the keeper is criminal
-
Gordon's getting kicked to fuck here. Absolutely zero protection from the gormless cunt who's refusing to get a card out. Shameful stuff from this year
-
About as spawny a point as they'll get this season. Completely outplayed for most of the game and still earn a point through none of their own industry. Lucky as fuck tonight tbh
-
Just buys him a bit more time in all honesty. I think most neutral fans know he's just about done there now, it's all just a matter of when, not if, he goes now. He's been a dead man walking for months now, the Cup Final shock stalled things for a bit but he's now reverting to the norm. Man U in mid-table mediocrity isn't sustainable for him
-
Agree. And if Howe extends his contract then I'll put it down as a mistake on Howe's part too and he'll need to own it. Him staying or leaving should be based on his talent and what he will offer the club on the pitch for the next 4 years. Being a canny lad and a good pro just isn't enough
-
Yeah I get that, not disagreeing. I just fail to see the benefit of extending a player who isn't producing anything of note. He's trying his best but it just isn't happening and I don't think it ever will, we do need bodies in the squad to pad it out but keeping players who simply aren't capable of offering anything is just taking up a squad place for the sake of it. It's harsh but I'd let him go for whatever someone is daft enough to pay
-
This is the very reason we need to be brave and just let him move on. If he'd switched shirts at Ht and come out wearing a blue one then I'd be astonished if any of our fans would have realised. We've got to be aiming a bit higher. Surely??
