Solid signing and £10m ish for a player who could/will easily become a starter in the PL these days is buttons. Subtract whatever we get for Darlow/Woodman and it's even cheaper. Very astute signing, unspectacular perhaps, but the type of signing we need to move the club on. We've spent 15 years having about 6 or 7 good players and fuck all else. Now we're actually building a squad with cover and competition for places and it's not going to happen overnight. They've been here for about 8 months and it'll take time to claw back the advantages we've willingly allowed other clubs to have and take. Slow and solid build please.

Then he lays him out. Top. Top iirc -
For the first time in about 15 years I've got complete and total faith in the people trying to sign players for the club. I didn't have it in January as they were still a bit of an unknown quantity at the time but they absolutely delivered 100% when they needed to. That urgency, understandably, isn't there this summer as it's a different situation with different aims. Under Ashley there was always the nagging doubt about players being bought for the wrong reasons plus they were clearly sketchy, dishonest and shady as fuck. Wouldn't have trusted them to buy a packet of fucking crisps the fucking arseholes. But this is different, the trust is now there and if they walk away from the deal for this kid then fair enough, I'll trust them. If they're trying to force a better deal by leaking shit then fair enough, I'll trust them. If they're already working on another deal for a different player that we don't even know about then fair enough, I'll trust them. Basically I'm chilled as fuck about this window, have total faith in the people running the gaff and I trust them to get it right more often than not. It's much, much nicer this way and I like it

And painting over the mould and moss with the black paint on the Gallowgate End. Still staggered he could even jet wash it first. Nope, just paint over the cunt, who gives a fuck.

He's the scrawny kid you smash within the first 30 seconds of 5-a-side. One tackle - done, whoever is closest.

Another solid and relatively cheap signing who'll come in and provide competition at the very least for Dubravka. Can't see too much difference between them ability wise personally but it all but eliminates the likes of Darlow playing and costing points. Need to give them both a few games in preseason the Howe's got to make his mind up and stick to it. Solid keeper in goal regardless of who it is, think maybe Pope is marginally better but the competition should raise the level of both of them in theory.

A couple of seasons ago signing DCL would have been a no brainer, he was bang in form, playing really well and looked fantastic but he seems to have stalled quite a bit in the last year or so. I don't watch an awful lot of Everton so I'm not sure exactly what the issues are but there's clearly something not right, he looks a shadow of what he was, isn't scoring and looks like he provides little or no threat in games. I'm fairly sure it's temporary and he'll get back into form eventually as he's clearly got talent but I'm not convinced he's 'the one' to blow our load on. This iteration of him is a bit of a risk given his current form. All things considered I'd rather look elsewhere and let someone else take the chance on him coming good again.

Bit harsh calling them retards tbh

Absolutely dreadful to watch, turgid rubbish from start to finish. 1 goal, from a pen, in 4 and a half hours is just not acceptable from a spectator pov. There's virtually zero ambition in the play

The kids need to shut the fuck up like. Squealing little urchins

No, he'd have gone for the better option which, as far as we can make out, is Milan for Botman I've never really seen him play so I'm not sure if he's worth what we're offering I'm just unsure about signing someone (anyone) for massive money if they really wanted a move to a different club.
-
Taking the fee out of the equation totally I'm still not totally sold on signing anyone if they're not 100% committed to the club. I'm not suggesting Botman is or isn't 100% on joining us, I've got no idea what he's thinking or what his priorities are. Best case scenario is that he signs, slots into the club and League seamlessly and becomes our equivalent of Kompany. The flip side of that is that he signs but doesn't really adapt and he doesn't settle because it wasn't really the move he wanted. We're forced to sell at a big loss and he moves on. Being totally impartial his best move is to sign for Milan in all honesty. They can probably give him the best chance to get what he wants but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll happen. Money talks at the end of the day, if Lille refuse to accept Milan's offer then he has 1 option.
-
Solid signing and is definitely good value for money. He won't need any time to settle in or take up a huge chunk of the budget whatever that budget is. We could probably have signed a better LB but at a much bigger cost and risk. Happy to see him sign permanently.

Can only assume Blackrock took their 10trn and looked elsewhere??
-
Thought they hated that and often used it as a stick to beat Newcastle fans with? Strange.

Client journalism at it's finest. Utter lies being spun as truth and it'll soon become accepted as fact by many sadly. -
I do tbh. If they've got anything about them then they'll know it's not going to be quick or easy to break that top 6 cartel. It will take time and sustained investment to do it and I absolutely believe it'll happen and I think they think the same. We just need to go big and strong when we're ready to do so, going too big and too strong when we're just a shell risks everything. Slowly slowly
-
All about building the squad with the right players for me, not really interested in positions or points for the next couple of years. Just spend the next 5-7 windows adding to the squad gradually then hitting the button to smash 2 or 3 out of the way. I'm a patient man, I'll wait.
-
That's as bad a decision as I've seen all season. That's unbelievable
-
I think his age and relative inexperience would mean he'd take longer to adapt. Ability wise, from the little I've seen, I'd agree he could start and not look out of place but he's 19 and moving to a new country, language, culture etc and realistically it's going to take time for him to settle in a bit. Throwing him in straight away would be a mistake but I'd like to think he'd be ready to go by about Easter. That's if he signs obviously
-
Even if we do break FFP what are they going to do? Everton have clearly already broken it and there has been no consequence at all and they're continuing to spend. If they can just ignore it then why can't we? You can't pick and choose who and when you apply your bullshit regulations without being ripped apart in the courts.

I do think we'll see lots of deals getting done now as I think the new accounts period stated today? Any transfers done from here will count to a different financial year? Or am I just chatting utter shit?
