Recruitment team have played a blinder so far for the last 2 month. Embarrassing stuff - still, at least they've been trying really, really hard

If only there were ways of getting more sponsorship money into the club, goshdarnit

'seems like' I don't know but I do know how much has actually been achieved this summer and it's not fucking much tbh
-
Through gritted teeth but Liverpool have played a blinder here. They've not made a single bid for him but have unsettled him via Romano, got his head turned enough for Howe to admit it in public whilst simultaneously making us walk away from Ekitike. They know they're dealing with fucking schmucks and our off-field team have been completely out-manoeuvred and out-thought over the last week. We're green as grass and we've been utterly played
-
Honestly think that unless they get their shit in a pile immediately and sign some quality then Isak will just be the first and more will inevitably follow. The 'short career' comment Howe made today applies to all of them and if they see Isak leave then that's the green light for Tonali, Botman, Bruno et al. It's a major situation and needs to be handled correctly. Got virtually zero faith in the set of people off the park to sort this out. I'm massively hopeful they prove me wrong

Can anyone clarify who's doing what this summer? Because right now it seems like fuck all is happening, nothing is organised and there's a real risk we lose our best ever CF and we've got nothing there to indicate we have a plan to replace him. If the alarm bells aren't ringing right now then they fucking should be
-
Yeah, running those comments through the Howe filter and he sounds more than a bit pissed off. Can't blame him either, This summer was the one to build on after the trophy and CL qualification and only Elanga through the door must be hugely disappointing. There's context obviously but the list of positives to happen off the field since May is just 1 - Elanga (next on the list would be Jack Ross getting a new job title). Went for player after player and been fucked off each time so far despite having cash to spend. While I'm having a bit of a whinge this was also the summer than we had to demonstrate some ambition to our better players and I'm also wondering what they're thinking of the inability to get more bodies in. Next 6 weeks are vital, there's time but something needs to change drastically off the park

Been dripping in E45 cream for the last fortnight -
Just feels like the whole thing has stalled and not progressed an inch in about a month. I know we can't be sure of what's exactly going on but you can kind of join the dots and this seemed on the verge of being wrapped up ages ago and it's been complete silence ever since. Other clubs, and I could be wrong here, seem to complete their deals a lot quicker than we do - could well be my frustration coming into play though, I'll admit it. It's also echoed by the fact it seems an absolute age to get anything sorted in at all in good time off the park. The management and players have delivered on the park in 24/25 and they've passed the baton on to the exec team who've managed to sign 1 player in about 2 months. I know it's not easy but other clubs have made up lots of ground as we've dragged our heels. That's really annoying when there's clearly cash to invest
-
Feel like this one should have been wrapped weeks ago. The time it seems to take to actually get things done doesn't seem reasonable relative to other clubs. It's slow and clunky at best
-
Totally agree, the stock is there so they may as well flog it but if they realise they're selling it and it's never going to be worn is that an issue? Honestly not sure hence the question
-
I'm sure he'll appreciate that, he probably wasn't aware of any issues
-
Nabbed a L and hopefully they honour it. Do JD know it's a mistake and it's not going to be worn?

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)
midds replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
Think he and Isak would have been brilliant together so it's a little disappointing we're not going to get that now but if he wants to play for someone else then fuck him. We've kept Isak and lost no one, added Elanga and clearly have other targets in mind. Need to get them into the club but the mentality is clearly there to get shit done ASAP given how quickly we've moved away from Ekitike and straight on to other players No panic here -

I'd absolutely love it if we've been working on another striker for the last week, Mateta for arguments sake, and we wrap that up tomorrow and we walk away from Ekitike/Isak move completely -

So now they're trying to unsettle Watkins and Villa? Those cheeky scouse scamps cunts -
True but it's still effectively the same thing. Sounding out a target before making any official moves is still tapping up, whether it be using a current employee or Twitter it's doing the same job basically. Still think we tell Liverpool to fuck clean off and try to sign Ekitike 100%. If we get him then we're golden, if we don't then we've lost nothing and we're no worse off as a result. Isak's not moving this summer and we've got one of the best CFs in world football tied down for the next 3 seasons in black and white. We've lost nothing, we're no worse off in any way
