Incident capped a really disappointing performance from him. Started slowly and never got into the game, looked a yard short, caught in possession and responsible for their goal. Looked sluggish (not the only one mind) and never got to grips with the LW position. Even when trying to stop the quick throw at the end he fucked that up too, the photos look bad but I don't think there was much malice in it, he just took the keeper out almost by the neck when he could have just given him a little nudge and avoided a card altogether. Was fully expecting the red to come out, it was a bit comical as it was such an unusual way of doing that type of thing

Absolutely, yeah. Fernandinho was a master at it and usually got away with 2 a game before he was eventually booked. I think every team does it now to some extent so it invariably has an impact on most games I'm trying to watch and enjoy which is why it fucks me off so much

I'm at the point now where I'm just telling him to launch it down the line or down the middle if he's under any pressure. I get the fact we're trying to play it out and build nice attacks from the back as it's a bit fashionable but he's not up to that technically. He's a great keeper and I'm not having a go but he's really poor with the ball so let's limit that as much as possible and just deal with the second ball, eh? Seems like the more we trust him in our own third the more likely we are to concede. He can still do the sweeper/keeper thing but it's got to go long when it trickles through to him. Play the percentages

Based on the 2 league fixtures that Joelinton has appeared in I'd say he's had a satisfactory start to the season

Wholeheartedly agree, I normally check the teams on Fotmob as soon as they're out then actually switch it on about 5 mins before kick off. Mute on the HT whistle, unmute as the second half kicks off then the whole thing goes off 5 mins after FT. Any interviews I catch online Liverpool matches are different. Switch on with 5 mins to kick off, mute immediately, wait until 5 mins in, unmute. Switch channels at HT, back for second half, mute on 85, off immediately on FT. It's working wonders tbh and the shite I see and listen too has decreased by at least 90%, thoroughly recommend it to all

Always mute Liverpool home games until about 2 mins in. It's unbearable and I actually think the weekly rimming they receive is getting deeper and deeper

Napoli - Bologna has started a 100mph

Mentioned it in the match thread, Barnes gets his head down and pulls the trigger - which is fair enough tbh, he was in and clear and not a horrendous mistake.... But if he lifts his head and squares it then it's a tap in for Isak. Not a biggy but them's the breaks sometimes
-
Agree with every word but I'd swap your 'vision' for 'ability'. Or maybe it's both? So frustrating to watch him try and create anything. He's capable of digging in and working hard like last week but nothing constructive at all unfortunately
-
I think if you read the match thread you'll find a lot of us actually thought the goal should have stood and Joelinton could very easily have gone. Nowhere near as blinkered as you'd imagine
-
Absolutely, aye He does like to phase players in slowly but in this instance it needs to be immediate. He's been at the club for well over a year now, he needs to be thrown straight in, would be an instant improvement
-
It's absolutely a possibility like Bruno, Joelinton and Tonali need to start most games. Willock and Miley on the bench and finally Longstaff if necessary - I know it's harsh but that's the pecking order for me now
-
Straight back in on Wednesday please. 60-70 minutes then start him vs Spurs too. He needs minutes asap and there's a gigantic and obvious spot in the team for him
-
At one point in the first half he carried the ball about 50 yards and Isak is screaming to be played in. Not once did I have any faith in him being able to slot a fairly simple ball into his path, just sat back and waited for him to eventually lose possession. Which he promptly did. Sick of watching him and sick of the excuses people make for him. We know he's a lovely lad and he's a grafter and he's had injuries and he's low on confidence and he's tired and he gives his all... Ultimately he's just not very good and is still starting. To be honest it's Howe that I've got the main issue with as he's the one who picks him regardless every fucking week
-
I'll go 4-0 here. Smells like a tonking
-
Could easily have lost that right at the end there but don't forget about all of the chances at the other end too. Neto pulled off a few really good, point blank saves that kept them in it too. We didn't play well at all but we're still unbeaten and can only get better from here, it's not all doom and gloom.

We need the 22/23 drug supplier back in asap. We look like need a few hits to get our edge back
-
Fucking hell Joe
-
I don't think that's handball tbh. I'll take it but....
-
Of course
-
Looked MUCH better since Longstaff and Murphy went off. Who could have predicted that?
-
Been coming tbf
-
Don't blame Barnes for shooting there but if he rolls it across Isak taps it in
-
This is fucking pigshit. Bournemouth are pressing well but we've simply not got the quality to break through. Just aimless punts down the middle or into Row G
-
Effort from Joelinton once he was robbed was abysmal. Lost it in a dangerous position and just jogged back despite them getting bodies in the box. By the time the ball ends up in the net he's STILL 6 yards outside of the box. At this level that's borderline disgraceful
