Just read that a couple of times How fucking insane is that little process there? Would any other club be treated like this?
-
The only worry I have is that the threat of City taking them through the courts may be just enough to get their charges done away with without it actually getting to court

Dortmund are rugged as fuck like. Stingy and hard as a coffin nail.

Maybe 35 was pushing it a bit, 25-30 maybe closer Think the far more likelier scenario is he settles and they shift one either Challobah or Disasi or whoever for decent money. I just know they'll not lose a penny on this deal, by hook or by crook

Thread title change and updates for the Final tonight??

I'm thinking maybe £6m signing on fee + £7m wages versus a £35m transfer in a year's time. That's not bad going tbh. They're just buying and parking assets essentially. If that's their model and he's happy to buy into it then fair enough, happy to let the pair of them get on with it. I can see the attractions from both points of view

Said it before and I'll say it again - Chelsea don't sign players, they acquire assets. Assets they can move around, sell as and when required without the merest thought about developing the player or any kind of long-term system. Tosin will drop into that squad and be tried out a few times, he'll then either play regularly or be sold on for a huge profit. If he plays regularly then they'll probably cash in on someone like Disasi instead. Either way Chelsea will make a huge amount of money signing him. Whether he's what the team needs is irrelevant, whether he improves as a player is irrelevant, how he copes at a much bigger club is irrelevant - he's just become another Chelsea asset. His decision, his future
-
Frustrating to lose out on him but not entirely unexpected tbh. Chelsea can and will offer him things we can't and he's made his decision based on his own priorities. Would have liked him here but he's chosen elsewhere so we just need to move on and find another CB, not the end of the world

Remains arguably one of the biggest arseholes I've ever had the misfortune to encounter on a night out. Bloke is an utter, utter wanker
-
Amazing how the ref managed to see exactly 8 people who needed to be sent off and it was exactly 4 from each side. Top work from the boys in yellow
-
Actually thought Still would have been a decent appointment for them, seemed to be doing well with a smaller club and got it punching above it's weight. Would have probably done a similar job down there, I think anyone with a bit of a personality and nous would stand a chance of building a bit of momentum and getting them a pop at the play-offs. Thankfully we'll never know by the sounds of things

This'll go largely unnoticed

From 1986 from what I can gather

Sure I've posted that old ad on here years ago. Can hear it now without even clicking on it

Can you still get any Exhibition in town? Or anywhere else for that matter.

More than served his purpose when he signed and was worth every penny in the end. Some immense contributions all things considered but as soon as we got the takeover he was always going to be phased out. Even then, you could tell he was a big, positive influence in the dressing room and in the squad in general - never complained and seemed to be one of the dads of the group, you 100% need players like him in the squad It's also pretty obvious that as he's aged his legs have all but gone at PL level but I hope he either sticks around as a coach up here or continues playing at a lower level. Would be a real shame if his career up here is remembered for some of his most recent performances, he was a little gem in those first 3 seasons
-
Yep, pretty much this. The only thing I will say in his favour is that as soon as he realised he was surplus he decided to try and find another club so he could at least keep playing at a lower level. He could have just put his feet up, taken the money and done fuck all but at least he still wants to play. Still a shit signing overall but I don't hate the bloke or anything
-
If the only club if benefits are Villa then I can't see why most clubs wouldn't vote it down? Presumably it'll need 14+ to pass and why would 14+ clubs give Villa a free pass for a single year? Burn the whole fucking thing down man, it's utter horseshit, all of it.
-
If he joins them he'll become another Chelsea asset. If he looks good they'll keep him, if he looks shit they'll flip him for about £27m of sheer FFP profit and replace him with better next summer. This is what they do, they're cunts but they know exactly what they're doing in the market unfortunately
-
It's all feeling a little a bit Frank Cushman tbh Think we're in for a Cush-lash
-
I thought everyone realised as soon as it was announced what it actually was? End of season trip to bank as much money as possible with the actual games themselves being utterly meaningless? People are genuinely upset about this?

Can't deny it, missing out on Europe after all of the effort we've put in over the last 9 months is a big, big blow. Think the Conf League would have actually been perfect for us but it just didn't happen and there's no point moping abut it now, it's gone. The only thing we can do is to try and take the only positive from the situation and make the most we can of the lack of midweek fixtures next season. It's not what any of us wanted but it does give us a big opportunity to churn the squad completely this summer, trim it right down, get rid of a lot of the shite that's still clogging things up and focus on the League and domestic cups. Watched the first half in SpotWhite in Chinatown and there was a little group of Man U fans getting moderately excited. Can't deny I was a bit jealous like
