    Sunderland...

Left that one alone last night. Wise decision in hindsight.

    Season Tickets

But the people waiting like that won't get one unless a mate or someone who's paid full price gets them one. Unless they change the deal for next season and offer season tickets at 30% off a month or two into the season? My point is that people will wait and see what they come up with. I'm not against the deal btw.

    Season Tickets

Slightly pissed off at the reduction but it's not a biggy. Happens all the time when buying a laptop, coat, TV - you pay full whack and see it reduced in the sales a bit later. Slightly annoying but I don't begrudge people too much for taking advantage of the bargain/saving. As TT says the problem will be in June when people wait and buy match-to-match for the first couple of months rather than commit early. Pros and cons either way.
  4. That's what I'm thinking. I've had a right pop at Harper loads in the past but I think there could be more to this than meets the eye. Finding it hard to believe he's a worse keeper than Eliott but if he's so far out of the picture then he may as well go and get a game somewhere else. Something's not right about it all.
  5. Whatever reason. the reason is he's shite. Surely there's a reason why we bought Charton's goalkeeper and put him on the bench rather than Harper though?
  6. He's clearly out of the picture, for whatever reason, here so he may as well go to Brighton tbh.

    Sunderland...

Did this a while ago and have just totted up the placings on last years league ladder again for the 9 games: Us: Arsenal 4th Spurs 5th Fulham 8th Villa 9th Sunderland 10th Blackburn 15th Wigan 16th Wolves 17th QPR 21st Total placings 105 W5 D4 L0 Sunderland: Chelsea 2nd Arsenal 4th Liverpool 6th WBA 11th Newcastle 12th Stoke 13th Bolton 14th Norwich 22nd Swansea 23rd Total placings 107 W2 D3 L4 Very similar obviously but technically Sunderland have had the slightly easier fixtures. Certainly not enough to moan at and come out with shite like "they've not played anyone yet", "easy start". We've beaten the shite and grabbed points here and there.
  8. Disagree with that tbh. Think Pardew got it spot on in his post-match interview. They were sharper and crisper in possession in the first half and had that one chance. But i think we matched them for chances in the end, and dominated the second half. You've only got to look at the possession stats to see that they were never in it. They closed the game out in the middle at times, particularly in the first, and made it difficult for us to break them down, but when they had the ball they were garbage imo. Moses and Rodallega looked their own players capable of doing anything with it. They spent the majority of the second half just punting it straight back to us. As Pardew said, it was more 'flat bitter' than it was champagne football, but we were unquestionably worthy winners imo. Fair enough. Don't recall Al Habsi making a save of note. Didn't think we created enough to justify taking 3 points but that's how it goes sometimes. We'll play much better and lose games this season.
  9. Didn't deserve to win it tbh. Wasted so many good chances to work the keeper but Al Habsi had nothing to do all day. Moses played well and with a bit of composure could have had a goal or two himself or set one or two up. Pleased with the result obviously but there's a lot of work to be done. Pardew keeping the same XI is fair enough but if there are superior players on the bench the bench then they deserve a chance - thinking Santon, Ben Arfa and Marveaux for Simpson, Best and Obertan respectively. Horses for courses.
  10. We're better than we were. We've got some good players who are playing well but there's still too many weak links in the squad for us to be able to rock up to any game and fancy our chances. The likes of Man U, City and Chelsea will swat us aside with ease but if we bring in 3 quality players in January and they adapt then we can have a platform to challenge the top 6. We're 7th best atm which, considering where we were 3 years ago, is phenomenal. Let's keep the quality we have and build a squad.

    St James' Park

Went to the game on Sunday and didn't even notice the new sign on the East Stand until about half an hour into the game. Might just be me but I'm fairly apathetic towards it. Not saying I like it or it looks good because it doesn't - I just find it hard to get too worked up about it.
  12. We've ground out a few wins this season but haven't really twatted anyone yet. We played really well and were really comfortable against Blackburn by all accounts but we've not really punished a team. Yet.... I'll take any sort of win obviously but someone's going to get it soon. Could well be tomorrow.
  13. Vaguely remember that. So no official apology from LFC then?
  14. Genuine questions: Did the families of the 39 murdered Juventus fans of Heysel in '85 ever get an apology from Liverpool FC? Did any of the Liverpool fans ever face criminal charges for causing the deaths of the Juventus fans? Just wondering like.
  15. Wonder how many of the 20 PL clubs would beat Genk?

    Alan Pardew

Sure the actual pitch got levelled out a few years back. The buildings show a slope but I'm sure the pitch is level.
  17. Can't see that much of a problem with it tbh. I know he's still very young but they've obviously seen enough in him to take a chance. MK Dons are £2m up on the deal, the lad gets to train with Chelsea and have a really good chance at developing as a player.
  18. Could well miss all 3 group games. If we qualify. Well done chap, nice one.
  19. You sure on that? Straight red wasn't it? Automatic 3.
  20. Violent conduct. 3 games.
  21. The studs were on the top of his foot rather than the ankle, I guess well find out soon enough when they have the x-ray results. Gulp.
