  4. Be interesting to see what kind of meltdown happens if they don't qualify for the Champions League this year. Gerrard -> Chelsea Torres -> Citeh Chelsea don't really need another midfielder like Gerrard. Both to Citeh i reckon or out of the Country. Ballack will go soon I reckon. Citeh will buy Torres so no-one else can.
  5. I suppose the problem with sacking him now is whether a replacement will do much better? The team itself is the problem, not enough quality, maybe no manager could do a lot better. If they appoint somebody else and don't qualify, they are doubley done.. It's his team though, and if you're saying that's the problem then that goes back to Benitez. Bingo.
  6. Bad tackle and deserved the straight red. Credit to the ref for not bottling it and being persuaded to give it only a yellow by Gerrard and the other cunts.
  7. Ah, right. Obviously people who don't share the same point of view are dense. Nice one. Well argued.
  8. And it's absolutely ludicrous. It is. The Premier League are meddling in affairs that should frankly have nothing to do with them. The only people McCarthy should have to answer to, if any, are the fans. Do they only support the club if all of the top players are taking part? I empathise with the fans from a personal point of view: spending that money and time to go there to be given a line-up that smells of "we're not going to win this, why bother?". My point is that McCarthy is well within his rights to give that line-up: his aim is to stay up, and that means considering the long-term, i.e. a 38-game season. Ultimately, fans should support the club, not just the starting XI, yes. I was in complete agreement with you. Fans should support the club, regardless of who starts the game. I'd like to think they could see where McCarthy was coming from and understand his logic.

  10. Totally agree. The FA shouldn't have the authority to tell a manager who he should and shouldn't be picking. He's the manager and that's his decision.

    Ryan Giggs

Giggs has only ever played his football for Ferguson at Man U. He's never given himself the chance to experience a different way of playing the game because he's been happy to stay there year after year. Who knows how good he could have been if he'd learned different things from different managers in a different environment? They say travel broadens the mind and in staying at the same club for 20 years or so Giggs hasn't broadened his horizons by trying to better himself in a different league/culture. He's obviously happy and comfortable playing for Man U and fair play to him but staying at the same club for your entire career is like only reading one chapter of a book. (Just read that back and it's pretty much all drivel!)

    Ryan Giggs

Hmm, nah. Scholes and Neville are fans and Giggs has remained an important player right up until now. I don't think any of that's relevant to the point I'm making though. For example, Beckham was also a Man United fan. That wasn't Beckham's choice. What point are you making? That Neville, Scholes, Giggs and co should have put in transfer requests when they started playing less regularly? No not at all, I've never suggested that, have I. Players don't ever only leave clubs by submitting transfer requests. It's a wider point, I just think too many of the English players are settled in their comfort zone in this country, compared to other nations. I'm sure the massive wages the English teams paid them had something to do with it too. At least the likes of McManaman, Platt, Walker, Ince had a go.
  13. Well it wouldn't have been the Sun, would it? Wahey!

  15. Get in there. Love seeing them twats lose.
  16. Arrogant fucker thinks he's reffing the game. 'I think I was fouled there so I'll stop playing and wait for the whistle' utter, utter tool.
  17. Finding it hard to give a shit who makes our shirts tbh. Puma are ok I suppose but just about anything will be an improvement on the last 3 home shirts.
  18. I know it's really petty to mention attendances but the mackems only got 37,000 today.
  19. Reminds me a little bit of Asprilla in that respect. I think he's fucking great personally. Can't decide whether I think he's massively overrated or been completely wasted both at Man United & City. He's very inconsistent but he's one player who, no matter how shit he's been playing, can still pull something out of the bag to win the game with a pass or a dip of his shoulders. I'll always like players who can win games by themselves.
