You do get that you're missing the point right? Ash making out that Wenger sold Anelka "to fund the new training ground" is him trying to rewrite history. During the time Wenger fought tooth and nail to keep him but Anelka wanted out. Wenger made it as difficult as he possibly could for Anelka to leave. Not disagreeing with you but surely that forced his fee up a little bit? Make as much of a fuss as possible and the buying club need 2 or 3 bids to eventually get him. Common sense surely?

Me mam said we might be getting Ben Arfa. Ho'way ya Mam! And your mam is ? She's 49, doesn't watch football, just has a feeling. That'll be her hormones.

Nice to see a good young player sign on and fight for Harper's shirt next year. He needs to be playing every week at his age so even if it doesn't work out for him here we'll still get something back for him if/when he moves on. Everyone's a winner.

Horses for courses. All depends on who we're playing and how we're set up in CM. It'll change from game to game but I'd start with Coloccini and Campbell with Williamson on the bench.

Down to the bare bones already. How long are simpson and kadar out for?

Wonder how many consider Ian Wright to be world class? He scored a fucking shitload during the same period. Performances > Stats. Owen never did enough to be considered world class. Each to their own though.
-
Don't think Owen will be remembered as a world-class striker by the generations to come. Fantastic at what he did and had some superb seasons but was never in the same class as Ronaldo, Shearer, Weah etc. More on a level with the likes of Batistuta, Papin, Del Piero. Fantastic, but not quite top, top drawer. All in my opinion anyway.

If he comes here, I'll eat my jizz. Gladly. And give Rich a tenner.

No doubt a brown one. Racist.

What a tosser. Bit moody, isn't he?
-
Guessing the optional year being taken up will depend on which division we'd be playing in.
-
Yep. Halve the price and double the crowd.
-
Only if he's playing darts.

Given the state of our finances and our current defence then it's a canny move for us and him. Could well turn out to be a bit of a liability but we need the bodies and his experience might help a few of the younger lads. Let's wait and see how he does.
-
or maybe wait for him to come back and if he doesnt want to re-sign on a fair enough contract then hopefully someone will buy him in january ? eoither way its all in his favour and there seems little the club can do beyond offering him too much. The club should have sorted this out ages ago. If he walks away for nothing, how much will it cost us to replace him? A £4m player? plus a canny signing on fee an substantial wages? Far better to to give Taylor what he thinks he's worth and move him on in a year or two. It'll work out cheaper in the long run imo. if the club gave him big wages 2 years ago, with sooo long left on his contract people would have slagged it off, if they done it last season in the championship they'd have got slagged off.....no win really. At least they'd have been pro-active and shown a bit of foresight. Let's just do f*** all and see him walk away for nowt though. That'll be the best decision. Do absolutely nothing then attempt to replace him by spending buttons. Fantastic way to run the club into the ground. so given the last 2 years as shown above what would you suggest ? i'm pretty sure theres a deal waiting for him. how much should we offer him ? Depends what he's asking for. I've got no way of knowing tbh. shut up and got to bed then. All I know is that him seeing his contract out and walking away for nothing is the worst-case scenario. Paying over the odds on wages or moving him on now are preferable. Whether you agree or not is pretty much up to you mate, couldn't really give a fuck. Night night.

We need to either sign him up or move him on. If that mean offering him £15k a week more than he's worth then so be it. I think someone would pay up to £6m or £7m for him and we can't afford not to cash in when that bid comes in.
-
on the other hand if no decent bids have came in and the player is willing to conduct talks.......what should they do ? Offer a good contract to a decent defender and pay over the odds until someone is interested enough to make a decent bid.
-
Not doing himself any favours though. Agree totally btw, but he was given his chance and, pretty much, blew it by fumbling it over the line.
-
Should have been sorted out months ago, one way or the other. To allow him to walk away for nothing would be criminal. Far from his biggest fan but the club should have assessed the situation and employed a modicum of fucking foresight and either cashed in on him or tied him up on a new deal. Fucking incompetent amateurish wankers.
-
If we sold him we'd be lucky to get a million quid for him. As poor as he's looked when he has played, I'd rather have him looking interested and motivated as an extra million quid in the bank. It's a hell of a long-shot for this lad to work out and contribute but he must have something to be capped at U-21 level for the World and European Champions.
-
Doesn't mean much though does it? Every single person on earth knows none of that lot are going to be within 30 points of the league winner so whether we're 200/1 or 250/1 doesn't mean too much in reality. A bad start to the season and the odds on us to go down will drop like a stone.
