    Sunderland...

    Feeling the pressure already?
  2. Hodgson walked into the impossible job when he joined Liverpool: Improve the team/squad using the money raised from selling the best players. Can't be done, man. He's a nice guy but he's on a hiding to nothing. They need investment but Rafa's spaffed the lot on shite.

    Sunderland...

To be fair Colchester at home isn't exactly a crunch game. It is a poor attendance but it's perfectly understandable tbh.
  4. Absolutely delighted that he's making progress as a striker and proving me wrong. Had massive doubts about him for the first half of last season (think it was the Doncaster match where he missed 3 really good chances?) but he seemed to put it together from Xmas onwards. He's getting better and better and I couldn't be happier about it.
  5. He cost more and therefore must be better. Sky's new rules.
  6. He'll be gone by this time next year. Loads of their fans seem to think that because he had YNWA on his armband for a while he'll never leave them. Totally ignoring that he had far stronger links to Atletico than a bloody armband but still left them when he got the chance of what he thought was a better career move. He should have walked this summer tbh. Looks like a player who's morale is rock-bottom. A player who has carried the goalscoring burden for a couple of seasons and is looking over his shoulder and wondering where the support is coming from. Still a fantastic player but he needs a move to get his spark back.
  7. I agree. For Champs League, I think Manure and Chelsea are locks, Arsenal would be a huge surprise for them not to make it, Man Shitty and Spuds for the last spot. If Spurs qualify for the CL this season I think the extra games will really start to take their toll on the squad, particularly at CH. They're going to be playing every 3 or 4 days and they're going to pick up injuries and suspensions too. Can see them slipping out of it a bit unless the droopy-eyed prick signs another couple of players. I think they'll finish about 6th. That's true. I still think they are the only team that has a chance to break the top 4 of Manure, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Shitty, the rest of this league is just not up to their standards. I'd go along with that. I think the top 4 will be away and clear by March and the likes of Spurs, Everton, Liverpool and Villa will be scrambling around in a little league of their own. The other 12 clubs will be trying to make sure they stay in the division.

  9. Liverpool looking a million miles away from the Champions League here. Might be a while before they get back into the top 4. Long way to go yet though obviously.
  10. There's a bit of astroturf on the floor. What the fuck. I definitely wouldn't have been able to imagine the scenario they were talking about without the astroturf and the net behind them. It really helped me get a handle on the situation and allowed me to understand things much better. Thanks Sky.

I don't understand this attitude any time I see it, the posters seem oblivious to the fact they are doing exactly the same thing as those they condemn. Goes around, comes around is another way of saying karma, and a lot of people are willing to accept the idea of karma when they see an imagined foe suffering, but they never seem to be able to project it on to the next logical stage. You reap what you sow, sounds like pretentious preaching I know but it is such a succinct way of saying exactly what happens if one would just study it a little without all the personal investment of irrational emotion. I just think that life's too short to hold grudges and settle scores. We can't change what happened two seasons ago and I'm far more interested in seeing us win games and climb the table than getting one over on a group of fans that took the piss when we went down. We play West Brom at home in the last game of the season, it'll be interesting to see how our lot react if WBA drop out of the division. Will some of our mongs take the piss if it happens? I think they might just you know...
  12. Very winnable game at Wolves. If we can get a bit of momentum going then we could/should be looking to win games like this. It'll be tough but we shouldn't be scared of them. Says the one preaching about 'not getting carried away'. I'm not getting carried away. Wolves were one of the teams I thought we had a chance of finishing above and if we apply ourselves like we did today then we'll get a result.

  14. If someone had told me 12 months ago that Carroll was in line for an England call-up I'd have laughed them out of town. His development over the last year has been staggering and he was superb again today. Kudos to the lad for putting the effort in and making the most of what he's got. Looks like he really wants it and giving him the #9 shirt has been the making of him.
  15. Got it absolutely spot on today. We look much more of a 'team' these days and Hughton's got to take a lot of the credit for that. Hat's off.
  16. Deal with back passes, find your own man from goal kicks and not give penalties away? Yeah but he had no opportunity to do anything positive (in a goalkeeping way). The bad things will always be highlighted if they are the only times you are even involved. He was the only one of the XI today I didn't have faith in. Needs to up his game or he'll be back on the bench imo.

  18. On the evidence me today, he's hardly indispensable. Williamson was superb and looks a real find. I'd like him to sign but it's not the end of the world if he doesn't.
  19. I really, really hope people aren't getting carried away with today's result. It was fantastic but villa never showed up. I'm pleased we won and all that but there's still another 37 points to get before we're safe. Baby steps.

    Sunderland...

We're back above them - finally the world makes sense again.
  21. Play the kids and see what happens. League is always the priority.

We won, that's all i'm concerned about. It's 3 points and that's it. Can't understand the bitterness - we'd have done the same in their position. Time to forget.
  23. That's it now, that's the standard. That's the level of effort and commitment that i'd expect from then every game. The whole XI played really well and deserve the plaudits they're going to get tomorrow. Really chuffed with that. Still only 3 points though.
