  1. Absolutely no excuse for not resolving Owen's contract issue months and months ago. Should never have got to this stage.

    Kinnear Out

If KK abused an official I would slate him for it too. I hate it when one of our players or manager loses their rag at a decision or with an official, its pointless, will only ever cost you and doesn't exactly set the right standards. When we've had the class and wit of Sir Bobby and KK managing us it breaks my heart to see complete and utter brawlers managing my club. Not saying he was right to do it btw. But I can understand why he snapped and had a pop at the linesman. I bet thousands of people in the ground had a bit of a reaction to that decision at the time. Difference is he's being monitored by the 4th official and didn't get away with it. No way am I going to criticise him when I would have reacted in exactly the same manner.

Complete difference to that rant and abusing an official. Point taken. Kinnear lost it on the touchline. Keegan lost it in front of Sky tv.

    Kinnear Out

Some people are never happy. Wen Keegan lost it, he was called 'passionate' and roundly complimented on 'wearing his heart on his sleeve'. Kinnear kicks off at a bullshit free-kick during injury time when we're hanging on for a win and he's getting pelters from his own supporters.
  5. Maybe we could flip the whole thing around? Maybe we should start with Owen and Viduka and bring on Martins to use his pace when defenders are more tired? Or, better still imo, start all 3 of them?

Boro and Wigan are also 'catchable' too imo. Not saying we will but they're certainly not out of reach.

cant win, and its only slightly likely? if we can only draw with the rubbish sides, and lose to the top ones, we ARE going down. West Brom are in freefall and have lost their best striker for a couple of months. Blackburn are also in freefall and playing so badly they might just sack their manager. Stoke are not a good side and I still think we'll catch them. Hull haven't had their bad run yet. West Ham could still yet implode and have to sell their better players in Jan. Sunderland don't have a manager and are playing shite. They'll get a bit better mind. Fulham are no great shakes either. There's 7 clubs we've got a realistic chance of catching/finishing above come May. Said it before, we're not great - far from it, but there's worse clubs than us in there too. We need to finish above 3 of that lot. I reckon we'll do it. If you don't then that's up to you mate.

Still don't think we'll go down but I thought we'd beat Stoke so I suppose it's ever so slightly more likely we'll go down. Now a 2.
  9. Looks like Faye is fit but Kitson is out.
  10. Sounds likely. I think Quinn will find some resistance to FSA at Sunderland after managing here even though there's a big shout for him from them. But Quinn wants to be everybody's friend and couldn't bare upsetting even one of his primates meaning Curbs is the easier choice for him to make. End of the day FSA was at Sunderland only a little bit longer than he was here, not really grounds to bring him in as manager considering how dire his last 14 months as a manager actually was. Curbishley nearly got the mackem job just before Keane was appointed apparently. Edit: the mackem local rag did a poll on who the mongs wanted to take over and Big Sam pissed it.

Are you going to re-set the poll at 5 o'clock? do you think i should? As it stands you can remove your vote then vote again. This keeps all of the other votes. Re-setting the poll wipes all of the previous votes.

  13. I keep playing Devils Advocate on this so don't take it the wrong way. Do contracts work both ways? I don't think they do and would like to see somebody who breaks it from the other side have to pay the employer for the remainder of the contract. It seems all one sided to me, it's far too easy for one party to break a contract while the other ends up out of pocket if they do it. A contract is a statement of terms upon which 2 parties are willing to be legally bound. If either side has broken the terms of the contract, and it can be proven, they'll lose. Keegan signing his contract in January seemed to happen very quickly iirc. I'd like to think he and his lawyer gave it the once over and he knew exactly what he was signing...
  14. The comment came across that he doesnt want Keegan to win, regardless of whether he is right or wrong; that was why I asked if I was interpreting right. To say the club is more important than Keegan = I "hope" the club win. How is that different to hoping Keegan wins. Its equally as short sighted without, as you say, knowing what happened. Ultimately, every level headed person/fan should be hoping that the person who wins is the person who has been wronged. Yes that's how every level headed/neutral/Keeganite should think. On the other hand, I am a Newcastle United fan and I want what is best for NUFC and our fans so I hope Newcastle United win this case. I see no benefit for NUFC or our fans in Keegan winning it as I can't see him coming back here. Take your point but it's about right and wrong too isn't it? If the club has broken it's contract then Keegan deserves whatever comes his way. He's entitled to it. It's a big 'if' mind obviously. No he doesn't deserve it if you want an honest answer. He isn't going to get that sort of job or contract from any other club. He shouldn't have taken the job unless he was going to see it through. All this talk of constructive dismissal is bollocks in the real world. If the club has fucked him over he deserves recompense. Contracts work both ways.

  16. The reports said that Keegan was verbally told he'd been sacked, it could be bollocks or it could be true. We could all say anything verbally then realise we'd dropped a bollock and pretend it didn't happen. My question still stands. If, as reported, he was verbally told he was sacked but it was never put in writing then it wasn't a formal sacking. It has to be about something else. You dont think the first thing the LMA would have said to him was "did they put anything in writing about you being sacked ?" ? If that's going to be the cornerstone of his claim then I'd imagine it was mentioned pretty early on tbh.
  17. He's under pressure and he's trying to deflect some of it. We're not far in front of them in the league but they're in much more trouble than us imo.
  18. The club comes first, but if Keegan's been fucked over then he's got every right to take the club to court.
  19. Please be O'Leary. Please be O'Leary. Please be O'Leary. Please be O'Leary.....
  20. Will a lawyer let you stick to your principles when there is a wad full of cash being waved in front of you/them or will they pressure you to settle ? The lawyers work for Keegan. It's his decision ultimately whether to continue or settle.
  21. Agreed. People's views on this will be coloured by whether they think he was forced out or "bottled" it. Personally I believe he was misled from the outset re transfers and his position was made untenable. I think he has every right to sue the club in that case and I don't think any the less of him for it, I would do exactly the same in his shoes. He is not stealing from the fans' pocket - Ashley owns the club not us - and this should not affect transfer funds one jot (I'm cynical over whether any money will be spent one way or another anyway). I wish it wasn't happening but the responsibility lies with Ashley imo. if the case is found against keegan then the responsibility was with keegan. also any monies leaving the club could well affect any future transfer expenditure. If the court decides against keegan then I'd reconsider. If his contract is paid up then he shouldn't have been constructively dismissed and he's entitled to it. In those circumstances the blame lies with Ashley and his minions not Keegan, and we'd have been better off getting 3 years of service out of him rather than forcing him out. so instead of your posts being very pro-keegan shouldn't you be saying "wait till we see what comes out in court" Not really. I believe Keegan's in the right here. i believe we haven't got a clue what went on and for all it'll be ugly it's the only way to clear things up. Unfortunately I can see this all being settled on the quiet out of court with the fans none the wiser. But if Keegan is taking this to court as a matter of principle he'll see it through to the bitter end? Settling out of court will still leave questions unanswered. If that happened we'd know that it's purely and simply about the money. If Keegan does indeed want to clear his name, stick to his principles and let the fans know what went on, he'll hopefully not accept out of court. Agreed 100%.

  23. Resigning by text message and fax. Not even thanking his players before he walked. Classy as fuck. Pikey twat.
