Sensible? yes. Cheaper? no. Nah, he'll come in and do a reasonable job at this level. He's not pretty to watch but he'll be fairly effective and he'll score a few. Decent signing for a championship team.

Annoy the people who pay to see him attempt to play football.
  3. If we can go to Cardiff and win then we'll go up as champions imo. It's one of our toughest fixtures this season and I'd probably take a point, but if get 3 points then we'll kick on and bum rush the muthafucka.

Unbelievably limited striker but he'd still be a cut above most of the shite in this League. Well worth a punt.
  5. Like Geovanni? Who kept hull up. Normally.... He also signed for a Premier League club who could afford a premier league wage at the time. We can't. That would be the reason to avoid him had he been available this year. I'd imagine we could top out at 20k, which is what some of these will be on. Some of these have had bad luck, iffy injury, or just are't good enough for the top, we aren't at the top so I'd be happy to take a one year punt on some of them. We might unearth a gem. Fair enough. I wouldn't touch any of them with a shitty stick, but there you go. What would you suggest then for our rather small squad? Not sure what the question actually is tbh. I would have thought that the current transfer policy of this regime is canny clear. We can't afford to sanction a big wage. Injury-prone players are ruled out too. Very few on there would have any resale value. Some have got major attitude problems. Basically, it was signing and relying on this type of shit that got us relegated in the first fucking place. Have we learned nothing??

  8. There's a few players on there, that, if possible to sign would be far too good for the Championship. Saying they should all be avoided like the plague is ridiculous. So why are they without a club? If they're that good why hasn't a single club gone in for them and signed them?
  9. There's normally a very good reason why these type of players are all without a club. They need to be avoided like the plague tbh.
  10. If Hughton can't see the correlation between Butt's absence and our good results then he needs a kick in the knackers tbh. Butt doesn't deserve a place in the team. Fuck, he barely deserves to draw oxygen.

    PROMOTIONOMETER

Seen absolutely nothing in this league to be scared of. We'll slip up now and again obviously but as long as we keep beating the dross then we should go up automatically.

Did quite well last night I thought. Didn't have much to do but managed to stay switched on when he had to be. The saves were pretty routine but he did all that was asked of him...apart from his distribution which is still disgraceful.
  14. Lovenkrands in and a couple of loans by the sounds of things. Cash out = £0. Mike will be well chuffed.
  15. I'm all for the current on-field reffing situation--the idea of the TV Umpire thing is ridiuclous, imo--but I have no problem with cards, fines, bans, etc. being handed out 'after the fact'. I really hope this isn't just a one-off. That's my worry - dozens of decisions being disputed 3 days after the game by a loads of blokes in a dark room in Switzerland. The ref's in charge of the game and he makes the decisions on the spot. He's going to get some wrong from time to time and fans need to understand that. Rough with the smooth and it'll all equal out in the end. Get on with it and play the game.
  16. Gut reaction is that they should let the referee make decisions like this. They'll get most right but they'll get a few wrong from time to time. I can understand why people want divers to be punished retrospectively but I like the idea of the ref being in charge and making an instant decision, even if it's the wrong one from time to time. Keeps it interesting.
  17. Can you imagine what would happen to this forum if we spent £5m on a striker before Tuesday??

    RIP sale thread.

http://i28.tinypic.com/i1dy75.png He's generally a good boy, but he sometimes shakes with rage if you don't give him his walkies. Careful, you'll raise distemper.
  19. Injuries are part and parcel of the game and other sides will pick up knocks too. It's just with our squad being so anorexic, we'll feel the loss of them a bit more than most. Xisco, Ranger and Carroll need to step up and the likes of Barton, Nolan and Guthrie will need to continue to chip in until they come back.

    The 12 months game

Slumping back into my seat once Bramble's header had gone in to equalise for Wigan. That was the exact moment I genuinely started to worry about going down.
  21. hows that ? we didn't have the money to provide what he wanted,he walked. why couldn't he cut his cloth like the every other manager has to ? how,-- gratuitous indulging in Keegan bashing, then he returns , we are good,= they are twats. come on you understand this. it doesn't matter who the person is i'll slag them off when they do something to be slagged off for and applaud accordingly when they deserve it. i'll not defend someone to the hilt without evidence especially if i know they have previous. I'm in this camp. Yep.
  22. Go back and read the so-called interview with Ashley from after Keegan was appointed. "Keegan is the man in charge, he has the final say, he names his targets we buy him" etc etc Now tell me if that was true? I was wondering when this debate was going to reappear on the forum. Fixed.

    Football Violence

All I'm saying is that the majority of bother associated with football happens outside of the actual ground itself. Pubs, train stations, service stations...etc. In the ground, you're pretty safe.
